Werner Thanks Wrener - the Teleboy subscription has clear advantages for me - switch on the power strip and enjoy TV after 3 - 4 seconds!
GuidoL / Thanks for the prompt reply - my TV box is already set to “sleep mode” - but I don’t want to have any power consumers in my house made of wood and switch everything off with the power strip when I’m away. Once again: well over 1 million TV boxes have to be switched on 24 hours a day, I can’t accept that at the moment and just for comparison: with Teleboy: switch on the power strip and in 3 - 4 seconds the TV reception is on.
Why does it now take a very long 81 seconds to start up the TV box with new Android + Google?
I would like to point out that I live in an old wooden house and always switch on all power consumers via a power strip for fire safety reasons, but also for sustainability reasons. Since the recent switch to Android + Google, the start-up time has taken 2-3 times longer, namely a measured 81 seconds. I have just been at my youngest son’s house for 2 weeks and the start-up time with the Teleboy TV provider takes 3 - 4 seconds. How is it possible that a highly paid and therefore responsible SWISSCOM management for TV products overlooks such a disadvantage for us subscribers or perhaps does not even understand the consequences of the Android + Google decision? I am very curious about the community’s experiences in this regard. Side note: with well over 1 million TV boxes, leaving all TV boxes permanently energised is probably not exactly CO2-neutral either!

Does bluewin email basic or light not have mailing lists and address book transfer?
Hello everyone - have been working with the latest version of Thunderbird for 24 years, currently 128.5.2esr
Questions:
a) can’t find any mail distribution lists in the current bluewin mail basic which is still valid until 25.12.2024 ?
b) in which format should I transfer the address book from TB to bluewin light, do I lose some addresses with all my efforts (e.g. vCard) ?
Thunderbird e-mail no more inbox
Since the new Bluewin WEB mail system became active this week, no more e-mails have been coming into the inbox - sending works and all inboxes are also available on the Swisscom WEB mail system - Swisscom Business Support says “only an IT specialist with knowledge of Thunderbird can find the solution”.
The WEB-Mail from bluewin is now finally running - now Swisscom is blocking access with the statement that the identity proof of my 94 neighbor has expired - unfortunately (according to Swisscom support) the automatic upload from the ID card and that works Selfie with the robot is not “always” - sending the documents by email is not possible at all, the federal government has strict regulations - Swisscom wants my neighbor to go to the Swisscom shop with my neighbor who is not very mobile - and by the way Is it recommended for people over 90 to hand over their emails to relatives?

Is the mail account set up as POP3 or as IMAP? IMAP
How exactly did you move the Thunderbird profile to the new PC?
Copied over the entire Thunderbird folder from the Roaming folder
Duplicate inbox folder in Thunderbird 127.x to Windows 11 migrations
As part of a neighborhood help, I upgraded an elderly Thunderbird to a new Windows 11 - everything would be there again and working if a second inbox folder with the same name but with a mark (2) and an orange star had not been created. Now all emails arrive in both inboxes at the same time - I have been using Thunderbird for 24 years and have changed hardware and operating systems without any problems - does anyone know how to remove a duplicate inbox folder without losing everything?
Unfortunately, no useful solution has been received from the community for elderly seniors - I therefore plan the following solution for my senior neighbor - “freeze” Win 10 PC with Outlook 2007, so that all previous mail folders are still easy to read - instructions and conversion to Bluewin WEB-Mail - I have been using the Thunderbird mail system for 24 years and still have all my important emails available
Bluewin didn’t tell my 94-year-old neighbor that they had switched to a new system - and sending again was possible, only receiving has been dead for 8 days - if bluewin fires the old Outlook 2007 users then it’s end of life for them PC. Swisscom support didn’t want/couldn’t help with the old Outlook version.
Addendum: Outlook 2007 is used by a 94-year-old senior who no longer wants to use a new mail system in the rest of his life - I support him as part of a neighborhood help and Swisscom support couldn’t help today because the Windows 10 PC is no longer working either is sufficiently powerful - if the Bluewin administration wants to get rid of older Outlook versions, then it is probably "End of Life* for the PC.
