  • Hello everyone. I tried everything offered and nothing worked.

However, I came to the end of the tunnel and found a solution.

I turned my Internet-box 2 back on, just the electricity without an internet connection, and I managed to pair the Wlan-box with the IB3. I went into the Wlan-box interface and manually updated the firmware from version 10 to version 12.

Once the update was done, the pairing with the IB3 was done on the first try and everything works perfectly.

So, I did well to keep the IB2 in reserve.

Thanks everyone for the advice and I hope my solution will also help others with the same problem.

    Good evening

  • Wlan-box 1 et Internet-box 3

  • Hello everyone.

    I’m trying to restart a Wlan-box 1 but I can’t pair it with Internet-box 3.

I tried everything, reset, connect by cable to the IB3, bring it closer, move it further away, etc etc. Nothing works.

After pressing +, it flashes for 2 minutes and nothing more. It appears in IB3 devices as WLAN-Box-Unpaired.

I have a Wlan-box 2 which works perfectly and I even tried to pair them together but still the same thing.

Anyone have the same problem or a solution?

    Thanks in advance.

  • I also noticed the same thing.

And since my Nvidia Shield (Kodi for video files) does its job perfectly well.

And Netflix directly on the LG 6C9 TV, top quality (4K HDR, Dolby Vision, etc.), no need to worry about stutters and others since the TV manages it all by itself.

The Swisscom Tv is no longer used for anything other than…watching TV.

  • I just compared some series and my conclusions.

On the Swisscom TV 2.0 UHD:

23.976fps: Sons of anarchy, 13 reasons why –> jerks

    24fps: Dark –> jerks

25fps: The Rain –> no stutters

I was able to know the exact fps of each series thanks to the Nvidia Shield and the application to automatically change the refresh rate.

And I remain to say that the problem comes from the fact that the Swisscom TV is at 50hz and which causes jerks with the series which are not in 25fps.

I haven’t tested the films and series in 29.9fps and 30fps yet.

And I don’t think the problem will be resolved as long as a system for changing the HZ of Swisscom TV is integrated because Netflix is not ready to natively integrate it into its application.

If you want me to test other series or films, let me know.

  • I am by far an expert in the field but I was able to educate myself well on the subject and I was able to do my own experiments.

To have a smooth image, the Fps must be synchronized with the HZ or be double, triple etc. of the fps.

The Swisscom TV UHD in my case broadcasts the resolution in UHD at 50hz while the Netflix content, for example the series 13 reasons why, is in 23,976 fps, so jerks.

The Dark series is European and is broadcast in 25fps (25×2 = 50) therefore perfect synchronization and no jerks.

And since there is no possibility of changing Hz on Swisscom TV, it is not possible to adapt to the content, therefore jerks on certain films and series.

On TV it’s different. The TV automatically adapts the HZ to the content and the image is smooth.

  • I have an answer for you.

I was able to test Netflix on Swisscom TV and I noticed the same thing as you. Jerks.

The problem comes from the fact that swisscom tv 2.0 displays all content in 50hz while Netflix content, mainly US films and series, is in 23.976hz and European content in 25hz.

With European content there will be no problem since the synchronization of the images is done well (25hz x 2 = 50hz) while the US does not give a synchronized image (23.976 × 2 is lower than the 50hz that swisscom tv diffuse).

As long as the Swisscom TV does not allow you to change the refresh rates on the fly like when you watch directly with the application on the Samsung TV, LG, etc., you will have jerks on certain content.

Other boxes also make the change on the fly like the Apple 4k it seems to me.

The Nvidia Shield (I have one) also does this through Kodi or with an app to change refresh rates.

So all we have to do is wait for Swisscom to integrate a refresh rate detection option and adapt the image to the content.

There you go, I hope this can enlighten you.

  • Personally, I have never managed to have a NAT1 since I joined swisscom.

But nat2 if you open the ports you won’t have any problems. I just opened the ports and switched to Nat2.

On the other hand, playing in 4g is just catastrophic. I was curious and wanted to test by installing a 4g modem. I am 100m from the 4G antenna so the speed is excellent, but the ping is too high in 4G, so unplayable for me. Looking forward to 5G.

  • Image quality

    A rant.

I am currently comparing Swisscom channels and those of the competition (netplus and foreign IPTV server).

I am disappointed to see that in 2019 at swisscom the image is of poor quality (blurry) compared to the others. TF1, M6, RMC sport etc, are far from the high definition of others.

At swisscom, it seems that the image is between SD and HD from other operators.

When will there be a system that adapts quality to connection speed like Netflix?

This is just a little rant and perhaps others will agree with me and that certain moderators will see these messages to pass the information on to the services responsible for quality.

    • If I measure with the measuring tool on the plan, I arrive at a distance of approximately 100m to the DSLAM. So even if we add 50-60m from the entrance of the building to my apartment, that’s not much for G.Fast flow?

      Good evening.

Anyone know how to interpret this plan? This is the installation from the DSLAM to my building (in red at the bottom right). If anyone in the know could shed some light on the meaning of all these lines and numbers, what does the fiber represent? Copper? microCAN? etc.

Thanks in advance. I am also providing a copy of my figures from my internetbox 2 for those who would like to make the link with my previous message and what I am sending now.

Same for me. I have exactly the same flow rates even though the attenuation and signal noise are not the same.

I am about 100m as the crow flies from the box and the building at 2 years old.20181017_153204.jpg

    • From what I remember, the film is shot by deliberately adding grain to the image, which makes it look like it’s pixels.

I almost never rent but one of the only times I rented I found the quality decent, but far behind a Blu-ray.

    • Frankly, I find it stupid. I have the uhd box but not the inone subscription and the channels are only available in the TOP bouquets which are only on the inone subscriptions.

Thank you for thinking of your former customers!

    • Hello. Still not resolved the problem on Sfr Sport 4k?

The image is perfect on Teleclub UHD channels but that on SFR 4k is jerky. Still the same problem since last year.

    • Teleclub UHD

      Hello everyone.
I’m watching the football match between Thun and Sion on Teleclub sports Live 2 UHD and the image is choppy. Especially on fast scenes like when the ball is going fast. On Teleclub 1 UHD the match between Luzerne and Lugano is going really well and the image is perfect.
The EPG between the two channels is also reversed.

I noticed the same problem on SFR sport 4k.

Anyone else with the same problem?

Or is a moderator already aware of the problem?

    • I’m also interested in more information if anyone has any.

I also have Broadcom with the IB 2 but Vectoring is activated, see attached screenshot.

      • Same for me.
I noticed especially on M6 Hd that the image is less beautiful than before. But I can’t say since when since I moved and I didn’t watch TV for 2 weeks. And not to mention unwatchable SFR 4K, but apparently a ticket has been opened by the technicians.

And I was able to compare with UPC, the unencrypted channels, the image is more beautiful and less compressed.

It’s a shame that Swisscom doesn’t apply the same technique as Netflix, adapting the image quality according to the bit rate. That way those who can would have an uncompressed image. Afterwards technically I don’t know if it’s possible for live channels.
