G.fast and DSLAM

Hello everyone,

Does anyone have any information on g.fast deployment? impossible to find out anything by asking the hotline.

I’m about 100m from the DSLAM so my speed could increase significantly I think.

from the modem I can see that the DSLAM is a Broadcom and that vectoring is not activated.

Is G.fast possible with this DSLAM?

I also have Broadcom with the IB 2 but Vectoring is activated, see attached screenshot.

    Here are my connection settings.

    My profile dropped to 77/16 whereas before I had 99/25, I had problems with the end of the aerial line which has since been replaced… it’s annoying given that I have a subscription for 100 mega. I find that the SNR is not bad. Is there a way to ask swisscom to increase all this? if anyone knows how to contact technical service directly?

    And is there no way to activate vectoring? apparently with a Broadcom DSLAM seen in the message above

      The GFast announcement above all allowed Swisscom to justify freezing the deployment of fiber.

      Considering your speeds, you certainly have a DSLAM in v3, you need v4 for GFast. I don’t even know if they’ve started rolling them out. As it takes a few years to make a DSLAM profitable, I very much doubt that you will have an upgrade before 2019.

      I am in the same situation, we are held hostage while waiting for the minimum to be ensured in Switzerland to increase… The mirage of 5G is just as real.
