  • I have the same switch, it had trouble at first but since I updated the switch firmware it works fine.

    http://support.netgear.fr/product/GS108Ev2

You must download the prosafe software from the page, as well as the latest firmware.
Launch the prosafe, connect to your switch which is in the list with the password “password”
then go to the firmware part and update it.

  • It seems that now in the evening, even their speedtest indicates less like that, there must be a gateway (between me and the speedtest (Swisscom)) overloaded:mansad: (in addition, it seems that the download and upload are from the perspective from the server and not from the box).

  • With this ubiquity, I think we can recover the optical socket from the internetbox and put it in the ubiquity in the sfp port after which we will have to configure the router so that it works with swisscom and tv. And since we have 0 information it’s not going to be easy.

  • +1 for bridge mode or when they offer complete documentation in English or French which explains the main settings that should be put (specific to Swisscom) in a router like Netgear, Ubiquiti, MikroTik for Swisscom tv2 to work .

The internetbox-plus seems weak (saturated at 500 mbits) when there are a lot of port forwarding rules and there is very heterogeneous traffic. Whereas in the case with 2-3 clients who surf normally there is no problem reaching 1Gbps.
But with the simplified interface you cannot see the router’s load history.

I would also like to change to a more serious router like [a router with sfp+ and sfp](https://www.digitec.ch/fr/s1/product/mikrotik-ccr1009-8g-1s-1s-routeurs-3229876?tagIds =7) but I’m not sure that the tv will work perfectly…

  • I sympathize.

Especially since it’s not as if swisscom offered a wide range of other solutions and explained the parameters to be able to use another fiber router.

I naively thought that they replaced it when it failed…

  • And if possible use an application on a phone like “wifi analyzer” on Android, this allows you to see which channels are saturated.

  • The IP address tested by your friend looks fake, it redirects to users…

Otherwise I played a game and got the IP address 185.40.67.169 and I had 38ms.

If not, what is your hardware configuration? (this could also come from the PC which would be overloaded by the game)
If the hardware configuration is the issue, lowering the game’s graphics options should help.

Has the problem ever occurred while you were both in the same game?

Depending on the server load, they redirect to servers located in the USA, hence the poor latency time.

Otherwise, there is still a possibility.
At Swisscom, depending on your IP address, you have a different latency time. Which is very strange.
For example, by having an IP address that starts with 85.6.244.* you can, on the same server, have 26 or 12 milliseconds.
Try restarting your box hoping to have an IP address that starts for example with 178…. or 83 (it’s quite the lottery)

  • Good evening,

On the Internetbox, it is only possible to use applications that are implemented by Swisscom.

In any case, it is very unlikely that Swisscom will make this application available on the internetbox because this would imply that the data would pass in a tunnel between the internetbox and the chosen VPN server, which would make it impossible to use any Swisscom TV box…

Why else would you want to use a VPN for all internet streams?
    Do you have specific needs?
If so, perhaps we can offer you other solutions.

  • According to the traceroute that you did when there was a problem, it seems that it is indeed not a problem directly linked to swisscom but rather a problem linked to the part after swisscom.

To find the addresses to test, you must use the Windows key at the same time as R.
write in the dialog box “resmon” then press Enter or click OK.

Then, you have to go to the network tab then TCP connections.
In this list, you must identify lol.exe or leagueoflegends.exe (the name of the executable) and look at the remote address part.
I recommend writing them down or taking a screenshot to have them on hand.

If you find them, I would like to try to do a plot to see if we have similar results.

    Good evening.

  • You should do a tracert when the ping is bad.
Here we see that your connection is not optical fiber and that it is good.
12 ms to arrive in Zurich then it leaves the Swisscom network to go to France via gtt.

When you are in a game with bad ping you can try to see the server’s IP address via the Windows Resource Monitor. This by looking at which ips address (there are always several) leagueoflegends.exe or lol.exe is connected. In these, there will be those for messages and that of the current game server.

  • For the internet, information passes from one network to another as for the post office.
If you send a package to Spain it goes with the Swiss post office to France and then other posts take over. It’s the same with the internet.
Swisscom will take the packets to the next point for example in Germany at de-cix (which is in Frankfurt) then the data will go through other networks.

Using the tracert command in Windows allows you to see how long it takes for information to go to each gateway.
This way you can see where the problem is. (here the latency time increases significantly)

So, without additional information we cannot say anything except that
if the line (the swisscom part) had a problem the latency would also be problematic for the speedtest.

  • If your ping is normal with other servers, e.g. those of speedtest, it comes from a problem on the route between swisscom and the server.

If you can get the server address and do a traceroute (tracert*) that will clarify the situation.

    *windows key + r
    cmd then enter
    tracertserveripaddresswithoutport

This type of problem is common for games like League of Legends or others.
Unfortunately, this is a problem independent of the swisscom network. It is often after leaving the swisscom network that one of the gateways is overloaded, causing an increase in latency time.

  • It seems to me that the application was updated from 2.4.1 to 2.4.13 could someone confirm if it works I am no longer a premium plex member.

  • I’m also looking forward to an update to this app.
Watching movies on the TV without having to connect a PC to it will really be more practical.
