After getting started for a few days, I found the original principle. On the other hand, there is still a lot of development work to be done.
- the Media application is very slow.
- DLNA or UPNP access could remedy the severe lack of memory. We could thus play multimedia files on the home server (NAS)
- If the Combox application was made like that of the Swisscom iPhone, it would be great. The way it is right now is very basic. There is no possibility of choosing the message you want to process without going through all the previous messages.
- Some errors still exist on the phone application. They appear when handling too quickly. For example, the silence function was triggered while it was still displayed as active. This happened after accessing the combox and pressing the end key.
If rapid and sustained improvements are made, this is a product that could become attractive. Right now it’s just an upgraded landline phone. No more. It will be difficult to convince, especially as competing products appear.
Good morning,
Having functional fiber at home, I would like to know how many handsets can be connected to this base station as well as the price of an additional handset.
I have not yet found a Swisscom Shop in Geneva that knows this phone, all the Shops can only offer me to buy it and return it if it does not suit me….
Many thanks
Michael
The Da Vinci IP Phone has failed miserably at least 3 times since it came into use.
sometimes it starts ringing for no reason and it’s impossible to pick up or touch the screen which doesn’t react.
inglorious backup solution.
remove the power cable, wait for the capacitors to empty… replace the power cable and it returns to normal.
It’s not terrible at all.
ISDN phones were of much better quality and never crashed. Perfect.
For sale 50% of the purchase price of the Da Vinci for those who want to be guinea pigs for an unfinished product, fed up,
Maybe it will go out the window if no viable solution comes within 1 month because it consumes more than it is useful.
I will change to an IP phone without gadget Siemens gigaset C610A IP

Below are some negative points and other bugs that I noticed.
- Although WiFi is supported it is advisable to use a cable connection as radio reception is otherwise choppy.
- Not many music choices on the handset.
- Unable to rewind the central console ringtones in the handset.
- I had the console program freeze several times, turning the console off-on = OK
- The handset discharges too quickly, approx. 2 days.
- The number of French-speaking radio stations is limited
- Too bad the Da Vinci is restricted and we don’t have access to Open Shop. See the manufacturer OpenPeak’s website for more information.
- No possibility of taking a call from the base station and transmitting it to one of the handsets.
- Nomad function, I don’t really see who will use this.
- In WiFi, the base station must be connected to the Swisscom router otherwise the phone will not work. While Youtube, Google maps etc. work very well if connected to another WiFi terminal
- The base station telephone works only hands-free, it would be desirable to be able to connect a handset by cable if desired.
- Very poor reliability of handsets, out of 3 received, 2 were returned for problems. keyboard a 3rd for problems with the charger.
- Tried to transfer 3 .jpg files of 100 kB each from two different 4gB USB keys, it doesn’t work. Tried the same transfer with an old 512mB USB key = OK
- Synchronization of the handset with the base for 55 names/first names/1 telephone number per contact takes 7 minutes per handset. My old SwissVoice Avena 265 does the same thing in 40 seconds. Make a rule of 3 to know the sync times for 500 names and 4 handsets.. Days
- As soon as the handset is too far away, synchronization no longer works, although the telephone function still works.
- If when creating contacts with the Swisscom customer page you indicate several numbers for a contact, the handset is unable to show more than 1.
- If you want to search for contacts on the handset by last name, you must enter the name in the first name section in the contact list on the customer web page…..
- Impossible to transfer a call from one handset to another or to the control panel.
- The extreme slowness does not allow you to browse all the recorded images.
- Impossible to copy image or sound files from the DaVinci to a USB key (rescue)
- Missing handset number on screen.
- The points below are nothing more than wishes, this product must be improved because I more and more have the impression of finding myself in front of a Beta Version from Microsoft and supporting the tests and the various bugs
It is imperative for Swisscom to improve the product
At your disposal if anyone wants more information and I hope this will be read by the Swisscom product manager in charge of this product.

Why this question?
It is said on several forums that the Da Vinci is reserved for the elite…
I am not elite even if I am a prio customer of Swisscom! This is probably what’s disturbing?
Or maybe I’m paranoid. That’s possible too 😄
This post really aims to record reactions or to track how and why a customer was able to order it?!
I almost feel guilty for being able to order a Da Vinci without feeling like it…
Hello Yell,
The main goal of the community is “Customers helping each other”, however we apologize for this late post.
Here are some answers to your questions:
- The Youtube application is great but why do so many videos display the message “restricted video”?
It would be interesting if you could tell us which films are affected, which will allow us to analyze the causes.
- Wouldn’t Da Vinci hide from us that it doesn’t support flash like iOS?
It’s correct, the Da Vinci does not support flash technology, like iOS.
- And the system restarts… Why does this damn device have to restart autonomously 4 times a day?
This is also correct, the Da Vinci resets 4 times a day (System Reset). This is necessary for stabilization, however it only launches if the Da Vinci is in standby mode (home screen).
Thank you, Yell for the good feedback you give us.

Good morning!
Yes, I understood the purpose of the help community, I was already a very active member of the old forum.
But it was you who gave us the pole by posting this message 🙂
In any case, thank you very much for your follow-up!
Regarding Youtube videos, here are some examples:
The second video when you put “les enfoirés” as the search term (all in lowercase therefore.)
The first video when you search for “beach boys” and the second and the third and the fourth and the fifth! The sixth finally works!
And strangely, by typing exactly the same search terms on Youtube on my Mac, I don’t have the same search results so it’s impossible to post the URLs to you, the Da Vinci doesn’t display them.
Additionally I have since spotted another bug. Google Adds are now displayed on Youtube videos. And if we touch the link, well given the absence of a web browser, the Da Vinci doesn’t feel very good and it crashes (this has already happened to me 5 times out of 20 tests so not every time but still) . And at this point, the only solution is to unplug and reconnect the device electrically.
Regarding system reboots. Yes of course, they are done when the device is on standby.
But the device also displays its standby screen when the radio application is running! And after restarting, the Da Vinci does not automatically restart the radio… It’s not super annoying but there must be a way to prevent restarts when an application is running, right?
And please tell me. Is there a project to port Swisscom TV Air to the Da Vinci or not?
Because honestly that would be the best!
Being able to watch France 24 or BFM in the morning directly after checking the weather and the news of the day would be great!
Otherwise, I disagree with the previous comment. The Da Vinci is not just an improved landline phone!
It’s more of a kind of restricted tablet, on the contrary! The guy has it in his stomach!
In any case, since purchasing it, I have never had to regret the 300.- it cost me! This is a great product full of potential! Let’s just hope that Swisscom Labs devotes the time it deserves to it and that they give us an update very quickly that will silence all the bad tongues! 😉
PS: A mail application for Bluewin mail would also be really welcome (in imap if possible)
Well there you go…
I have given you everything and despite the two weeks, no response…
So for other real customers and non-Swisscom customers, I pushed my tests further!
I went to dig into the root of our Da Vinci’s OS. It’s not iOS, it’s not Android, it’s not Web OS either.
It is indeed an OS proprietary to Open Peak.
On the open peak “Frame” there is a store with lots of applications that you can add. The Da Vinci being an Open Peak terminal, we can imagine that we can run these applications on our phone too!
And there really is everything!
Swisscom did really well to focus on this product but on the other hand, in terms of communication and support, they are really not great! Which is not like them anyway!

Hello Yell,
Thank you for your new questions and here are some new details,
I went to dig into the root of our Da Vinci’s OS.
It is indeed a proprietary OS, I can confirm that again.
Concerning the Openpeak Store, it is not available for the Da Vinci. For Swisscom what matters most is the telephony experience.
Best regards!
Thank you Yell for your new post and these new interesting feedbacks.
Regarding Youtube videos, here are some examples:
The second video when you put “les enfoirés” as the search term (all in lower case therefore.)
The first video when you search for “beach boys” and the second and third and the fourth and fifth! The sixth finally works!
And strangely, by typing exactly the same search terms on Youtube on my Mac, I don’t have the same search results so it’s impossible to post the URLs to you, the Da Vinci doesn’t display them.
The Da Vinci accesses Youtube content via Openpeak (in the USA). In this case, it may happen that access to certain Youtube videos is restricted in the USA due to copyright, for example. It is therefore normal that from a computer connected in Switzerland, these are freely accessible. Unfortunately, there is no improvement possible.
In addition, I have since spotted another bug.
Google Add’s returns a link via an Internet browser. Since Da Vinci does not have an Internet browser, this poses a problem. The manufacturer has been informed so that it can find a solution to this malfunction.
But the device also displays its standby screen when the radio application is running! And after restarting, the Da Vinci does not automatically restart the radio… It’s not super annoying but there must be a way to prevent restarts when an application is running, right?
Very good observation. In the next Swisscom release, we will improve this point.
And please tell me. Is there a project to port Swisscom TV Air to the Da Vinci or not?
PS: An email application for Bluewin emails would also be really welcome (in imap if possible)
The possibility of extending services such as Swisscom TV Air or the possibility of exchanging e-mails with Swisscom Da Vinci were taken into account. Thanks again for all the good feedback and suggestions for improvement.
Best regards, Yell, and see you soon.
