Yell

Thank you Yell for your new post and these new interesting feedbacks.

Regarding Youtube videos, here are some examples:

The second video when you put “les enfoirés” as the search term (all in lower case therefore.)

The first video when you search for “beach boys” and the second and third and the fourth and fifth! The sixth finally works!

And strangely, by typing exactly the same search terms on Youtube on my Mac, I don’t have the same search results so it’s impossible to post the URLs to you, the Da Vinci doesn’t display them.

The Da Vinci accesses Youtube content via Openpeak (in the USA). In this case, it may happen that access to certain Youtube videos is restricted in the USA due to copyright, for example. It is therefore normal that from a computer connected in Switzerland, these are freely accessible. Unfortunately, there is no improvement possible.

In addition, I have since spotted another bug. Google Adds are now displayed on Youtube videos. And if we touch the link, well given the absence of a web browser, the Da Vinci doesn’t feel very good and it crashes (this has already happened to me 5 times out of 20 tests so not every time but still) . And at this point, the only solution is to unplug and reconnect the device electrically.

Google Add’s returns a link via an Internet browser. Since Da Vinci does not have an Internet browser, this poses a problem. The manufacturer has been informed so that it can find a solution to this malfunction.

But the device also displays its standby screen when the radio application is running! And after restarting, the Da Vinci does not automatically restart the radio… It’s not super annoying but there must be a way to prevent restarts when an application is running, right?

Very good observation. In the next Swisscom release, we will improve this point.

And please tell me. Is there a project to port Swisscom TV Air to the Da Vinci or not?

PS: An email application for Bluewin emails would also be really welcome (in imap if possible)

The possibility of extending services such as Swisscom TV Air or the possibility of exchanging e-mails with Swisscom Da Vinci were taken into account. Thanks again for all the good feedback and suggestions for improvement.

Best regards, Yell, and see you soon.

observation:

* degraded quality or VoIP yoyo

at the start of the purchase, the voip quality, perfect, as desired digital quality ISDN equivalent

3.8.2011 9:43 p.m. poor quality, see sound cut-off for the customer at Sunrise landline and the same with GSM telephone which is unacceptable, in 10 years never had anything like this in Swisscom telephony!

my last 2 contacts have no problems with their other GSM or landline copper correspondents!

suffice to say, not happy at all, especially for the cost of the device and the electricity consumption.

no wireless network, web or swisscomTV activity at this time,

only the Da Vinci DECT voip IP layer

it is therefore not a question of saturation but of an anomaly, either temporary or bug, either at swisscom or in the swisscom centro grande blanc fiber router at my home.

disappointed with the declining quality of service for such an expensive device and on fiber.

*radio management is difficult for French-speaking radio stations and this is the only one that interests me only.

*heats way too much in my personal opinion, even in standby, the screen must be 25° celsius

which is abnormal for a sleep mode.

it is missing (in my opinion):

* a real screen standby

* reduced power consumption (in standby mode at least)

* DAB/DAB+ radio retransmitted via IP (which seems to me to be a minimum for such a device)

* live conversation recording button

* button to record the radio

    Hello redge,

To answer your question, we confirm that HD Voice is already implemented on the Swisscom Da Vinci.

However, for it to work, the caller’s device must also be equipped with this technology.

    See you soon!

      NunoP,

thank you for the partial answer which proves nothing. having no way to verify other than believing your information.

the DaVinci manual does not mention this feature HD Voice (G.722)

no technical description, as if everyone are idiots or the technical sheet is very well hidden but what is the use of hiding such an essential document for certain criteria and/or prerequisites?

What are the G.722 compatible devices from swisscom apart from ISDN and DaVinci phones?

Currently, the Da Vinci is the only device offered in the Swisscom offer, for residential customers, supporting HD-Voice.

HD-Voice is not listed in the device’s features because, in fact, too few other models are equipped with it to have this experience regularly. However, communication from a Da Vinci terminal to another Da Vinci offers this quality.

      Best regards,

        hello NunoP

When will the new IP phone called “Rousseau” be released to replace the defunct “Da Vinci”

sorry, I don’t know the spelling that will be used for the new IP phone product

What can I do to get the new device to replace my Da Vinci that keeps “freezing”?

While waiting for your news, I wish you my respectful greetings.

        IP telephone Swisscom Da Vinci

it has been stable since swisscom repaired their telephony error on my fiber connection

because since April 14, the date of Swisscom’s intervention, I no longer have any concerns after 1 month of use following their passage.

        so, I’m keeping it 🙂

Works only with a fiber optic connection. (curious as a prerequisite)
Normally IP is independent of the physical transport medium (copper, fiber, WiFi, 3G/4G cellular, which allows the gateway between several types of physical medium in complete transparency if software allows it. (Hand-over)

as there was no response or follow-up…I switched to the Siemens Gigaset C610IP model and changed subscription Vivo Casa to Vivo Libero by taking a local portable number from the competitor NetVoip while waiting for OVH for a French-speaking service .
I would have preferred the same thing in pure IP VLAN via Swisscom, but we cannot receive the configuration from Swisscom according to support under the pretext of problems.

        Dear Community

that’s it, today a new release of Da Vinci will update it.

        The main changes are:

        1. The local.ch App will display a new look, test it. You can now search by location, you will see a map showing the address and detailed information on the search criteria.

        2. Synchronization of contacts with the Online address book will no longer be offered (this function, as it stands, was not user-friendly enough).

        Greetings,

        DennisA

Da Vinci 2 phone both devices with an electronic paper (e-paper) mode screen

(not visually tiring) and very low power consumption and very very durable 🙂

          essential with children 😉

we will then have the 3 points of satisfaction combined (cost (price), ecology (watt), comfortable practical functions with crystal clear “HD audio” sound

          example:

E-Ink Pearl (grayscale)/Triton (color) or EWD (liquavista acquired by Samsung)

          New version:

          2. Synchronization of contacts with the Online address book will no longer be offered (this function, as it stands, was not user-friendly enough).

The day I have to change my daVinci, it has already happened once, I will still have to enter the hundred addresses by hand. It would have been more professional to reconfigure the sync module than to remove it. Deleting is the easy way out.

+ local.ch is more user-friendly but offering to call 1811 for an untraceable number that the 1811 service will in any case be incapable of providing is simply unacceptable except for selling a useless service in such a case.
