Swisscom currently only offers offers with 1 telephone number/1 line via optical fiber. Offers with several numbers and lines are in preparation.

Hmmm. Usable only with optical fiber and Vivo casa *****. In my opinion there won’t be much feedback for Romandy!

But the idea is nice.

P.S. If you bring fiber to my home, I would like to share my experiences with you daily 😉

Good day

Good morning,

one question, just one: why the hell only for fiber optic connections??

That the limitation is a function of the bandwidth I want but why fiber???

the product excites me (at least on paper and despite the problems apparently encountered by users)

    Dear community members,

Swisscom Da Vinci is the new landline phone for fiber customers. It combines traditional telephony with additional functions in the field of information and entertainment. The need for these additional functions were studied jointly and according to customer needs. The Apps currently available on the Da Vinci meet the most important ones.

The development objective for Swisscom is the telephony experience. We are aware of the whole range of other practical applications that could further increase the high appeal of Swisscom Da Vinci. We are therefore constantly working on the development of new applications which could further complement the product and which we cannot yet reveal anything about. We commend you for your suggestions and ideas. We are pleased to take note of this. It is now up to the development of Swisscom Da Vinci to respond.

We wish you lots of fun with Swisscom Da Vinci in the future!

    Your Swisscom

After tough negotiations with the All IP service I was finally able to order my Da Vinci!

I am not actually connected to fiber so the VoIP does not work but all the multimedia functions are fully operational!

So first hot assessment (it’s been 20 minutes since I installed it)

The OS starts very very very slowly but it is super smooth and responsive! It looks like Apple! (the packaging of the Da Vinci is also 100% Apple fashion, which is very pleasant for the user experience!

    I’m missing two things.

An email client to check my bluewin address at breakfast without having to launch my PC and an air TV Application!

How cool would it be to have TV air on this marvel! Especially since it streams Youtube so after migrating the TV air stream type, it should be totally compatible!

And frankly, it will truly become the phone of the future!

and there is a camera port on the top, on the manufacturer’s website they sell the camera. When will we have a fixed videophone?!

This device has exceptional and hidden resources! an App also to control the new PowerLine would be welcome!

With all that added, the Da Vinci can only be a hit! Especially if you activate its home automation functions!

Thank you in any case for this wonderful device! It’s really Wouaawouuu!

Well, I will still continue to give my feedback. No response to my previous post, the guy must be searching all Swisscom systems for the why and how… 🙂

The Youtube application is great but why do so many videos display the message “restricted video”?

These same videos work on the PC with the exact same url.

Wouldn’t Da Vinci hide from us that it doesn’t support flash like iOS?

And the system reboots… Why does this damn device have to reboot autonomously 4 times a day?

It’s certainly not very disturbing when you don’t use it much, but that’s by far not my case!

There’s nothing more annoying than touching weather and seeing the famous little message at the bottom “The Da Vinci will restart. system check” (by the way, well done for customizing the OS, even in the restart messages it talks about Da Vinci and never about OpenFrame 7E)

Otherwise, well, it remains a piece of jewelry with its flaws, of course, but a beautiful piece of jewelry all the same!

in case of new messages in the combox, there is no information on the da vinci. Would it be possible to achieve something, such as an envelope that appears or flashes?

how to configure a Nokia N8 with native VoIP and Apple iPhone4 in WiFi/VoIP mode with our home number 022xxxxxxx with Da Vinci?

It’s technically possible but you need real experts.

The blocking points are the swisscom voip settings and the password.

        Does anyone have this?

After getting started for a few days, I found the original principle. On the other hand, there is still a lot of development work to be done.

          - the Media application is very slow.

          - DLNA or UPNP access could remedy the severe lack of memory. We could thus play multimedia files on the home server (NAS)

          - If the Combox application was made like that of the Swisscom iPhone, it would be great. The way it is right now is very basic. There is no possibility of choosing the message you want to process without going through all the previous messages.

          - Some errors still exist on the phone application. They appear when handling too quickly. For example, the silence function was triggered while it was still displayed as active. This happened after accessing the combox and pressing the end key.

If rapid and sustained improvements are made, this is a product that could become attractive. Right now it’s just an upgraded landline phone. No more. It will be difficult to convince, especially as competing products appear.

          Good morning,

Having functional fiber at home, I would like to know how many handsets can be connected to this base station as well as the price of an additional handset.

I have not yet found a Swisscom Shop in Geneva that knows this phone, all the Shops can only offer me to buy it and return it if it does not suit me….

          Many thanks

          Michael

The Da Vinci IP Phone has failed miserably at least 3 times since it came into use.

sometimes it starts ringing for no reason and it’s impossible to pick up or touch the screen which doesn’t react.

            inglorious backup solution.

remove the power cable, wait for the capacitors to empty… replace the power cable and it returns to normal.

            It’s not terrible at all.

ISDN phones were of much better quality and never crashed. Perfect.

For sale 50% of the purchase price of the Da Vinci for those who want to be guinea pigs for an unfinished product, fed up,

Maybe it will go out the window if no viable solution comes within 1 month because it consumes more than it is useful.
I will change to an IP phone without gadget Siemens gigaset C610A IP

              [unknown]

Below are some negative points and other bugs that I noticed.

              • Although WiFi is supported it is advisable to use a cable connection as radio reception is otherwise choppy.
              • Not many music choices on the handset.
              • Unable to rewind the central console ringtones in the handset.
              • I had the console program freeze several times, turning the console off-on = OK
              • The handset discharges too quickly, approx. 2 days.
              • The number of French-speaking radio stations is limited
              • Too bad the Da Vinci is restricted and we don’t have access to Open Shop. See the manufacturer OpenPeak’s website for more information.
              • No possibility of taking a call from the base station and transmitting it to one of the handsets.
              • Nomad function, I don’t really see who will use this.
              • In WiFi, the base station must be connected to the Swisscom router otherwise the phone will not work. While Youtube, Google maps etc. work very well if connected to another WiFi terminal
              • The base station telephone works only hands-free, it would be desirable to be able to connect a handset by cable if desired.
              • Very poor reliability of handsets, out of 3 received, 2 were returned for problems. keyboard a 3rd for problems with the charger.
              • Tried to transfer 3 .jpg files of 100 kB each from two different 4gB USB keys, it doesn’t work. Tried the same transfer with an old 512mB USB key = OK
              • Synchronization of the handset with the base for 55 names/first names/1 telephone number per contact takes 7 minutes per handset. My old SwissVoice Avena 265 does the same thing in 40 seconds. Make a rule of 3 to know the sync times for 500 names and 4 handsets.. Days
              • As soon as the handset is too far away, synchronization no longer works, although the telephone function still works.
              • If when creating contacts with the Swisscom customer page you indicate several numbers for a contact, the handset is unable to show more than 1.
              • If you want to search for contacts on the handset by last name, you must enter the name in the first name section in the contact list on the customer web page…..
              • Impossible to transfer a call from one handset to another or to the control panel.
              • The extreme slowness does not allow you to browse all the recorded images.
              • Impossible to copy image or sound files from the DaVinci to a USB key (rescue)
              • Missing handset number on screen.
              • The points below are nothing more than wishes, this product must be improved because I more and more have the impression of finding myself in front of a Beta Version from Microsoft and supporting the tests and the various bugs

It is imperative for Swisscom to improve the product

At your disposal if anyone wants more information and I hope this will be read by the Swisscom product manager in charge of this product.

                Why this question?

It is said on several forums that the Da Vinci is reserved for the elite…

I am not elite even if I am a prio customer of Swisscom! This is probably what’s disturbing?

Or maybe I’m paranoid. That’s possible too 😄

This post really aims to record reactions or to track how and why a customer was able to order it?!

I almost feel guilty for being able to order a Da Vinci without feeling like it…
