I’ll leave everything as it is and wait for the automatic update, especially as this version is “only” a beta version. In the past, I had only triggered the update manually once, but it was a final version at the time.

In fact, I don’t really want to have to worry about firmware updates on a regular basis. Otherwise, everything works perfectly for me as a “simple” user and the performance (LAN/WLAN) is excellent. The only thing I have deliberately set on the box is a separation of 2.4 GHz and 5.0 GHz and of course the WLAN passwords.

    SWISSCOM STOPPP HALT Serious problems with Beta 15.00.46!!!!

    Existing static IP configurations and forwarding configurations are thrown overboard!!! Plus after a while there is a freeze in the browser and you can no longer access the IP of the IB3 box but Internet is still available. A firmware update from Swisscom, with customer service on the phone, has not helped so far, I still have the 15.00.46 on it and still the same problems.

    First launch a beta firmware and then eliminate the old firmware on the Swisscom site for security reasons, so that you can’t even help yourself to repair the infrastructure. Super GAU in the deployment and release process! The customer is not your guinea pig! Unfortunately, I had accidentally clicked on the firmware update because beta is only mentioned there in passing. Normally there are beta programmes where you can sign up if you want to and not just roll it out. I am not a beta customer!

    What a mess, got the 2nd IB3 after having Firmware 15.* making tons of problems on the 1st IB3. I did go first with the Firmware 14.* on the 2nd IB3 which was already installed and all went well. Did leave it alone until I got my Fiber installed in the appartement. I was running Firmware 14.* for another week and thought I could give it a try on Firmware 15.* as it was a new IB3 Box and newly connected with Fiber. Ended up again with exactly all the previous crap behavior and not beeing able to manage the box anymore as it is not reachable anymore. Eventhough Internet (WAN) is still up and running!!! What is the solution here???? Changing Provider?

      Dude33 Old/new IB3 doesn’t matter. The hardware is the same, so it makes no difference. Replacing routers is simply pointless in 99% of cases. And it doesn’t matter whether it’s copper or glass. Makes no difference either.

      This problem seems to be caused by something in your home network. You can no longer access the start page of the router menu with any device? Are you using 192.168.1.1? That’s a strange problem, which I’ve only seen very rarely so far. It was usually enough to call up the page again in the browser.

          Have you ever tried to access the Web GUI with a PC connected directly to the IB3 with a LAN cable?
          If that doesn’t work either, what exactly is the error message?

            5018 No, I’m using 192.168.180.1 the settings are all exactly the same as before… I have saved them in the Swisscom portal as a backup so that I can restore them as soon as the new firmware has an upgrade and I might run into a problem. That didn’t help either. I will probably have to call support again for a new box because the old firmware is still not available to install it again.

                5018 Thanks for the input, but it can’t be because the special config sometimes works but is usually no longer accessible - all other devices work.

                    There is something wrong with your config in the new firmware.

                    What happens if you just leave it on factory settings?

                    Do you have a special VPN configuration, this could be a possible cause.

                    Sometimes it is better with a completely new version.

                    Re-enter and save the port rules.

                    On my IP, only the 3rd digit of the IP address has changed.

                    192.168.11.1…..

                    I have no problems with this.

                    I have several port forwardings on it.

                    I have also activated Wireguard there, which is available with version R15.

                    I have thrown the old VPN overboard.

                    A new router won’t do you any good either, because it will get the update sooner or later.

                      The fact that you are not using 192.168.1.1 is new information. There may be an error with the change to R15 (where the basic operating system from Broadcom has been updated to a newer version). I’ll ask the router team.

                              Dude33 that’s not so fast. I told them to look at it. Then they will try to reproduce it. If that works, then you can narrow down the error. But since it is one of many things on the To-DO list and not a mass problem, it will certainly not be priority 1.
