Doremi are you sure? you can also buy the IB 5 Pro with an existing Internet S and M with a discount of 200.

There writes JanineZ:

With the blue Internet L subscription on fibre, you will receive the new Internet Box 5 Pro worth CHF 349 as a gift. Anyone who orders another Internet subscription on fibre will continue to receive the Internet Box 4. *Existing customers with a subscription on fibre can buy the Internet Box 5 Pro with a loyalty discount of CHF 200 for CHF 149.

The sentence “Existing customers with a fibre optic subscription can buy the Internet Box 5 Pro with a loyalty discount of CHF 200 for CHF 149. ” leaves room for speculation. Is the IB 5 Pro free if you switch from copper to fibre with Internet L?

Depending on how long the minimum contract period is, I would think carefully about what is more worthwhile.

Internet L is 10 more expensive than Internet M

With a minimum contract period of 12 months, that’s 120.
With a minimum contract period of 24 months, that’s 240.

Internet M is usually absolutely sufficient for private use. So why should you pay 240 when you can also buy the box with Internet M for 149?

I would also always recommend changing the technology in the shop. You may be able to get a discount for the contract extension.
Back then I got the IB 4 for free and on top of that there was a 6 month 70 discount.

@JanineZ
Can you shed some more light on this? Does the copper customer get an Internetbox 5 Pro for free when they switch to fibre optic if they take blue Internet L?

Absolutely right. Someone in my family, a customer for years with an Internet-Box 2 (IB2), received an Internet-Box 4 (IB4) free of charge with an “M” subscription when the fibre was recently switched on. However, our request for an Internet-Box 5 Pro (IB5 Pro) was turned down, and we were not offered the chance to buy it at a reduced price.

I’ve now discovered that it’s possible to buy the router for CHF 149, as @“Werner” says in my customer area. However, when a member of my family requested one, the answer was negative. What’s more, at the end of December 2024, I can’t remember whether there was a discount or an opportunity to buy.

In fact, I reminded @PTT that the new router he wanted was not free. If Swisscom provides one free of charge, it will be an IB4, unless Swisscom has changed the rules.

[unknown] right! But she offered me, who likes to have the latest equipment, the 5 with a discount. And so I would go with fibre to the Internet M according to the advice above.

Hello MirkoP yes the discount is already clear so far.

I’m interested in what the copper customer gets when he switches from copper to glass technology?
Does the copper customer then also count as a new customer? Or would the copper customer have to pay the IB5 if he absolutely wants it?

      WalterB ,

      Your calendar is excellent!

I’d tried several, many of them. But none of them gave me exactly what I wanted.

I installed yours on my iPad, on my iPhone: brilliant 🤩! On my Mac, it’s fine, but nothing more. At first I made a mistake because there was onecalendar and one calendar. And I’d downloaded the wrong one. But I’ve corrected it.

      Thanks again.

I even installed this One Calendar for some older users and they are very enthusiastic, it just takes a little time at the beginning to set the different names and colours.

Anyway, be it Windows, Apple or Android it just works, I invested the Fr. 10.- for the full version myself.

***It is also available for Windows in the Microsoft Store.

I paid the 6.- frs required for the iPhone and iPad together. That way I can access all the settings. But for the Mac version, I downloaded it from the Apple store and there was no charge.

I’ve had it for over a year and with the Fr. 10.- I could use it on all systems, maybe there was a change ?

              MirkoP thank you I do.

              1. I’m going to switch to Mail Basic (2.90 cheap) instead of Light, which everyone can get even without a subscription. Just, if I don’t like it, I can go back to Light after how many months?
              2. Received an e-mail about fibre next week. I think Swisscom is going to make me an appointment for the connection. I’ll be switching to Internet M (S now) and router 5 (I’ll make a call but it also seems to me that 4 is free and 5 at 149 CHF, I’ve already got a 24 month block so it should be fine) thank you all.

A little personal addition that doesn’t necessarily require a reply to say how well Swisscom is following up on fibre optics.

The latter has been available since this week in my home I will move from Internet S to M and received today Internet Box 5 pro at 149 francs since I already have a 24 month extension for something else.

I like having the latest equipment, but I’ll have to be patient because I heard today (still good follow-up from Swisscom) to tell me that the electrician won’t be here until April or May, which isn’t serious (overload).

Less cool (I hate canvassing by phone or at the door) is that someone rang this afternoon and it was a gentleman from Salt to tell me that the fibre is there and in fact to try to get me to change (and it rings everywhere).

He’s a bit ill-timed with me, who’s always been with Swisscom for internet, mobile and TV.
