@Albatros2 the HN8255W only has WIFI 5. The WLAN performance is better than the IB3. The router is interesting because of 10Gbit/s Ethernet Anschluss. What kind of settings do you mean?

The bridge would be interesting but Absolut doesn’t give me an answer and I don’t have to ask again.

Many specs fit. AES US is not listed, but is required by Swisscom according to the sheet… In addition, it is probably only intended as a P2P connection between two of these devices at the moment.

Have you somehow gotten the ZyXEL router to work, my current status is:

ZyXEL AX7501-B0 “FW version: V5.15(ABPC.0)C0”

With the following settings a connection is established, an IPv4 address (100.95.79.xx) is obtained and the registration page can be opened:

Encapsulation: IPoE

DHCP option 60: 100008,0001

VLAN 802.1q: 10

MTU: 1492

Unfortunately, I can’t get an internet connection (not even ping 8.8.8.8 directly from the router).

If you create an IPoE (DHCP) connection, but fixed IPs are switched on your Anschluss (which you can obtain via PPPoE VLAN ID11), you have no Internet connectivity via the DHCP connection, but only a connection to the service network and could, for example Use Swisscom TV.

So what you’re describing makes sense. Not that you’re comparing apples with oranges.

Initial situation:

• Firmware version: V5.15 (ABPC.0)C0
• SFP+ XGSPON ONU Module: CIG SX-1001 PN: 151173701 TX 1270
  (Unfortunately this is only a 1Gbps module, this is the module that was supplied with the CB2.)
• Swisscom “Business Internet L” subscription

1. Step:

Make settings for IPoE (DHCP, Swisscom services) and register router:

• Network Settings
  • Broadband
    • #1:
      • Mode: Routing
      • Encapsulation: IPoE
      • IPv4/IPv6 Mode: IPv4 Only
      • IP Address: Obtain an IP Address Automatically
      • DNS Server: Obtain DNS Info Automatically
      • DHCPC Options:
        • option 60
          Vendor ID: 100008,0001
      • VLAN (802.1q): 10
      • MTU: 1492
      • Routing features:
        • NAT: (Enabled)
        • IGMP Proxy: (Enabled)
        • Apply as Default Gateway: (also activated for now, deactivated later)

Then register the router (it is best to connect it directly to the router via WLAN or cable, if necessary reopen the browser). In my case (with Firefox) I was immediately made aware of it and suggested the correct page.

2. Step:

Change PPPoE settings and default gateway:

• Network Settings
  • Broadband
    • Add New WAN Interface (#2):
      • Mode: Routing
      • Encapsulation: PPPoE
      • IPv4/IPv6 Mode: IPv4 IPv6 DualStack

        • MLD Proxy: (Enabled)
        • Apply as Default Gateway: (Enabled)
      • PPP information
        • PPP User Name: DEINPPPoEBENUTZER@swisscomsme.ch
        • PPP Password: YOUR PPP PASSWORD
        • PPP Connection Trigger: Auto Connect
      • IP Address: Obtain an IP Address Automatically
      • DNS Server: Obtain DNS Info Automatically
      • IPv6 Address: Obtain an IPv6 Address Automatically
      • IPv6 DNS Server: Obtain IPv6 DNS Info Automatically

Additions:

• Note: I had to use the PPPoE login xxyyzz@swisscomsme.ch (not…@swisscomdata.ch)

• Of course, the settings can be adjusted as needed (PPPoE passthrough, etc.) but I recommend starting with this setting and building from there.
• I have the impression that what was important, among other things, was the process (first only register IPoE, router and only then PPPoE) and a little patience… but I could also be wrong.
• I haven’t gotten Internet-Backup to work yet

You can find your PPPoE access data in the Swisscom Kundencenter at:

Settings & Services -> Internet -> Internet access data there under “PPPoE access data”

We have a business internet Anschluss, I can’t provide any information about private connections.

From what I’ve read, only IPoE with DHCP is used there (no more PPPoE).

P.S.

I also had internet access with “IPoE only”, but only after several attempts. On my first attempt I (also?) had the phenomenon of being connected but not having internet access (see post above).
