Metadata improved? I disagree. It is becoming more and more common that the information about the program being broadcast is incorrect, the wrong film is shown, and incorrect data is included in the information. Main actors are not shown or with incorrect information.

Episodes of series are listed twice, complete with the same information and title, but with different episode numbers. Sometimes it’s the same episode, sometimes not.

Sometimes I have recordings in the list that I didn’t even take. Sometimes there are recordings that I wanted, especially with series, but when I want to watch them there is something completely different in them, either from the same channel or from another. Sometimes the recording you want is there, but it starts somewhere in the middle of the stream and therefore stops in the middle when the stream is officially over (blue bar).

The start of the specified broadcast and the start of the stream display often do not match. The broadcast begins when half of the blue bar is already gone. That postpones everything. This happens especially at night. I don’t know how to cancel it again, but the next time I turn it on, both will agree again.

Archived episodes of a series are resumed.

I really hope that Swisscom gets this under control, because you really can’t rely on the information. Without wanting to appear polemically threatening, I have already considered changing provider because of all the problems.

Addendum: Another duplicity discovered: ZDF Neo, Death in Paradise, Season 9: all episodes have already been recorded (not archived), around January 15th, 2021, less than a year ago. Nevertheless, the episodes will be shown again as reserved recordings from October 6th, 2021; same station. A few weeks ago Swisscom still had this under control.

P.S.: I’m replying here with this list of errors because the thread was started by Swisscom. I know that it is actually a “customers helping customers” forum in which Swisscom employees are kindly reading along.

Regarding images in the EPG: aren’t these automatically fetched from Wikipedia? I looked it up, Brigitte’s Wikipedia entry shows her star on the Boulevard of the Stars, her memorial plaque and her tombstone.

The way the information about actors is formatted, or not formatted, I assume that it will not be reworked. Simply get out of Wikipedia and into the EPG. If there are multiple images, the image defined as “Image 1” in Wikipedia is taken.

If there are several Wikipedia entries for a name, errors can occur. E.g. birth year 1884 for Harrison Ford. There was once a silent film actor named Harrison Ford (not related or related by marriage) who was born in 1884. But he wasn’t Indiana Jones in “The Last Crusade.” 😂

Yesterday I watched the series “Instinct - On the Murder Hunt” on Kabel 1, which I’m also recording. When I went to the taping to watch the episode “Riddles of Life and Death”, I noticed that the title and the episode were not the right one.

Season 1: Episode 10: Mysteries of Life and Death

The title of this episode is actually:

Season 1: Episode 10: Bye Bye Birdie

And then comes:

Season 1: Episode 11: Mysteries of Life and Death.

But somehow this episode is missing.

Can something like this be changed later?

I would also like to address the question of when Swisscom intends to put an end to this tragedy.

Here is the crime scene from tomorrow as an example. Sorry if I have to use words like that. But what is provided here by the data provider is just pathetic. And I pay a lot of money for that.

@falonef what would be worse than an incorrect/unusable EPG?

With Samsung TVs, the EPG can be switched to another provider if you are not happy with yours. This is not possible with Swisscom.

And as is usually the case with such things, communication is part of the reason why it is so tragic. As with the deterioration in the recorder function, something is glorified as an improvement.

So far, as far as I know, no point has been mentioned where something has improved in the EPG.

I’m starting to doubt that Swisscom is interested in improving the data. I think the new provider is massively cheaper. If I’m still wrong, it would be up to Swisscom to clear the supplier’s head.

It’s possible that there are problems, but with such massive problems we should actually expect a statement from the head of the Blue Entertainment department. It was briefly introduced at the rebranding show last year.

    I was looking for the game in the hotel where I am at the moment.

    Since it only shows a few channels at a time, I assume that this is the information that the channel provides.
