I don’t think the black background is great at first either but maybe you have to get used to it.

But why isn’t it possible to give customers the option to change the background to light?

As you said, it’s a matter of habit, but perhaps the SC can be softened up and there may be an update over time to change this again. Let’s see

Received the update to EOS4 today. After watching Netflix for about 10 minutes, my UHD box suddenly crashed and can no longer be switched on. I hope the problem can be resolved as quickly as possible because I watch a lot of TV due to the current situation.

I also received it this morning, but I’m sorry to say that it’s been working perfectly with my UHD box so far. It used to be that you could switch off the box three times and then the software would be reinstalled. But I can’t give you any guarantee whether this will still work with today’s UHD box.

I can’t really help you with that, I hope the problem has been solved for you now.

great reason. Absurd. What mastermind thought that up? Now the optics and the TV guide are just as bad as on Sky. For me, Swisscom TV was always the shining example of an intuitive and user-friendly interface. Now you have these nasty scroll bars and a black screen that ruins your eyes… I want my old Swisscom TV back, please please…

exactly, please give us the white back. Black is for kids and not for older people with bad eyesight. This is a complete disaster!!!

You can adjust the font size under the TV Box accessibility settings.

If you set it to “Large”, it will be a little better even for those with poor eyesight.

At least for my wife (visual impairment due to NHA) this made the writing a little more legible.

Today’s TV boxes can be used e.g. Switch the rear off and on for most problems, or perform a reset if there are major problems.

No idea. Check out this video.
I generally like dark modes. I now appreciate flexibility and have some things in light mode again because they are sometimes easier to work with.
I suspect that Swisscom is thinking about something again after the feedback from customers. Should be a product for everyone.

You write:
…sort by channel is another function that was omitted…

Correct.
Since I worked at Swisscom for over 25 years, I also know how it works: A designer is of the opinion “It’s not necessary, it just costs money to maintain it. So we’ll leave it out. Customers will (have to) get used to it.”
It’s a shame, because if you wanted to search for documentaries on Discovery Chanel, for example, it was much clearer because you only see this channel.
We are in the fortunate position that Evard Biel’s Anschluss is brought to our house. We are currently determining whether we should change provider.

I found the individual channel overview much better…now it looks like a “mess”. I hope we can change it again!!!

    I’m actually a big Swisscom fan…

But it shows a lot of impertinence to take away a central functionality from users without asking and replace it with an unwanted one overnight.

Those who have expressed their preference for dark mode do not necessarily represent the majority of customers…

It is only an expression of fundamental, temporarily lost customer orientation and appropriate compensation if the opportunity is given as quickly as possible to choose between the traditional light and the new dark mode.

Thanks in advance for any repairs!

    Kind regards

The update was installed last night. Looks good! But there’s one thing I miss a lot: I can only use the table format in the TV guide, whereas previously you could change the view. Maybe I didn’t find where to set it up despite an intensive search. Does anyone know?

    …there is no alternative…

Another reason is that as soon as you notice after the update that it is missing, you should complain to Swisscom. Only if enough people come forward will anything change.

To my knowledge, the Magazine view is no longer available. Was no longer developed further due to low demand. (Faith was mentioned in a thread here in the forum)

Is OS 4 generally so slow on the UHD box, or is this due to the higher network load caused by Corona?

It seems to me like it used to be on the HD box. I press the home button and after about 2 seconds the image is there. Press down on the home screen and after about 1 second everything is set up.

Is it so lame on the new box?
