If you get in the dark, it might help to reset your email password. This password is different from the password for the Swisscom login and can be changed in Kundencenter.

I very much doubt that a new IP address will help in this case.


Every now and then you get a message on the internet saying “Swisscom, we have blocked your internet” but you can click away the message and then everything works again.


That sounds more like the topic of this thread. Instead of just clicking away the message, you should read it carefully the next time it appears and try to understand it. Or at least copy it (screenshoot) and post it here.

    Yes, just dial into the router via 192.168.1.1. On the homepage after logging in you can see all the devices and if one behaves suspiciously, the device will be flagged as written.

    The beta version is now the normal version that is installed on your computer.

    If the IB has not yet classified a device as suspicious, that doesn’t mean that a device isn’t still causing trouble. As I said, the function is a help, but cannot detect 100%. Maybe it needs more time.

    You wrote that you can no longer send emails with bluewin as the sender domain. But does an error message appear or not? If so, what is it? If not, do the emails “hang” in the outbox forever or are they shown as sent and never arrive or what else happens?

    Then take that one PC from which you can no longer do anything from the internet and see if the problems disappear.

    Otherwise, I recommend the other approach mentioned in the error message, namely consulting an IT security expert. If you have cyber damage insurance (some offer this as an addition to household contents/liability insurance), contact them; they may provide you with an expert and/or cover at least part of the costs.

    Of course, something will only be displayed if malware is active in the home network. If it is a compromised account or spam from the home network, this is a different mechanism.

    Have you tried Malwarebytes if necessary? There is a trial version.

    As you mentioned, your IP address has been blocked and I suspect spam is being spread to the world from your home network. This is prevented with IP blocking.

    @ChristianG: are you sure that IoT devices are excluded from detection? I don’t remember it that way. That’s exactly what the detection was intended for. Maybe you can talk to @JonasB. SPAM from the home network (large number of emails, for example) should also be recognized as unusual.

    @ChristianG @5018 @PowerMac I just had an extremely unpleasant telephone conversation with the Swisscom hotline. The consultant’s tone was extremely aggressive and he really made me feel like I was the mastermind of a cybercriminal organization 😞

    Thank you for your good advice. I/we have really tried everything (including with an external IT security company) but we can’t get anywhere! Swisscom claims that spam emails are being sent from my address. But no one can give me proof (e.g. which MAC address in the network is supposed to trigger this). In fact, I can’t send emails from the company I work for (different PC, different network, etc.). Malwarebytes, Sophos, Kaspersky and Avira were unable to detect any threats…

    I think I’ll switch to Sunrise…

    I felt exactly the same. Incompetent Swisscom supporters who greatly overestimate their competence. Everything is automated, which is of course understandable in a large company like Swisscom. But the processes should definitely be reconsidered. If the private sector worked like that, they would be bankrupt long ago. Swisscom is strong for sales and constant surveys as soon as you put the phone down. It is weak for concrete assistance. Very weak actually.

    This link will not help you find out which device is infected. While it may show you where your login information was stolen, this information would help with a compromised account, not malware or spam.

    Sunrise/UPC will also block you if the malware sends spam externally. The same mechanisms will certainly be in use there too.

    Please note that Swisscom, like all other Swiss ISPs, is legally obliged to prevent this spam sending:

      Yes, it is clear that this link is not against pests, but it would be interesting who made the addresses public. A few years ago, my Bluewin email addresses were put on the Internet in a major hack at “Adobe”.

      N.b. Adobe did not inform the many millions of hacked users at all.

      @ChristianG…I have nothing against Swisscom being so restrictive with the filters. But you should tell me what I can do and not just block the Anschluss. According to our virus/spam tools, all PCs are inconspicuous…
