So lebt dein Handy länger

How to prolong the life of your phone

With all the surfing, streaming, zooming and gaming, your mobile phone works hard for you. The following tips will help you keep your favourite device going for longer. This is easy on your wallet and on the environment.

Go easy on your battery

The battery has a big impact on your mobile phone. Now for the good news: keep your battery healthy for longer by following these three simple rules.

  1. Charge it properly: Don’t go from 0 to 100: start charging at 10 percent and stop at 90 percent. That way you will avoid under- and overcharging it.
  2. Save energy: Set the screen brightness lower and use power-saving mode. You will then need less power and your battery will last longer.
  3. WLAN rather than 5G: If you have a WLAN connection, use it! Your battery will have to work less and you’ll save on possible connection costs.

If the battery has reached the end of its life, don’t dispose of your entire mobile phone straight away: it’s usually worth replacing the battery. And that is also better for the environment.

Erase unnecessary data

Your mobile phone is constantly saving data in the background. Regularly delete large apps to clear the app cache. Good to know: you don’t need apps that supposedly delete data junk and speed up the phone. These often clutter up your phone with ads.

Avoid heat and cold

Treat your mobile phone like a baby. Keep it out of direct sunlight and freezing cold. Your device can withstand extreme temperatures for no more than 5 minutes. After that, the battery will run down much faster. Please note: high temperatures, especially at high charge levels, will cause irreversible damage. If your phone becomes hot while charging, be sure to give it a break. And take it out of the protective case when charging. That way, it will not overheat.

Use a phone case

Accidents happen. With the right case and PanzerGlass screen protector, your smartphone will be properly protected right from the start. Make sure that the case is the right fit for your model – and that, besides the look, the protection is appropriate for your lifestyle.

Better safe than sorry

If your mobile phone is stolen or broken, insurance such as Easy Protection offers some consolation. If the phone can be fixed, an extended warranty provides free repairs for up to 4 years after purchase in the event of a claim.

Thank you very much for your advice because we forget it or from time to time a reminder is good for our ecology.

An idea but successful, why not send a reminder through an app that we can activate in our customer area?

Basically, it is important to generate as little data waste as possible. You can remove apps that you no longer need by long-clicking on the corresponding icon.

However, you can only completely free a device from data waste by performing a factory reset. Then you only reinstall the apps you really need. This method is very time-consuming but the most effective. Before that, you have to back up the data that you still need.

“Regularly delete large apps to clear cache.” Please tell us how to do it!

“activates power saving mode.” You should know that with this mode, the calendar and contacts are not saved in the cloud! So if the phone is changed or reset, they will be lost!
