Hello everyone
We are currently testing a new software version, which will fix some problems. This is expected to be available to all customers next week.
The software addresses the following topics, among others:
1. No sound via TV-Box audio output when a monitor without audio support is connected
2. Various adjustments that will improve HDMI stability on different TV models, i.e. certain Samsung models or some models from 2021.
Maybe a number game on the topic: There are around 500 different TV sets/receiver manufacturers that are connected to our TV boxes. We have TV sets from 2006 - 2024. Each manufacturer usually produces numerous different models every year, so we can assume that there are more than 10,000 different TV models that are connected to our TV boxes.
We have a pool of several thousand testers who test our software beforehand. But neither internal nor advanced testing will ever be able to test all combinations on the market.
That’s why it can unfortunately happen that with such a major update to the operating system, our customers may experience occasional problems that we didn’t notice in the previous tests. This is extremely unpleasant for every single customer and I would personally be annoyed if it affected me.
If you have problems, you can contact our support with confidence; they have a suitable solution for almost all problems.
@FabioF The following no longer works on my IP2000 TV BOX with speakers since the Google update
- The USB interface on the TV box accepted external hard drives with NTFS formation - no longer. FAT32 is recognized but has a 4GB limit per file. EXFAT is also not recognized/supported.
- The built-in voice control on the TV box also no longer works. The switch is “On”. The command “hey Swisscom” is no longer recognized.
Too bad. These two functions were unique selling points that the competition does not have.
Hello @Viesayot10 ( @RomanB 2a, 2b)
1) The built-in voice function “Hey Swisscom” works for me without any problems. And I can change stations or radio via voice command as usual.
2) A newly purchased USB stick was recognized without any problems. 16 GB
2a) Only works with Fat32. -> a file larger than 4GB isn’t possible for me either, but that’s because of the format…
2b) NTFS is not recognized for me either. I even did a cold start to test it.
But I hope that the memory problem can still be solved.
Greetings Lorenz
@“x”#49200good to hear that Far Field Voice is working again with “Hey Swisscom”.
Regarding USB support: Unfortunately I have to disappoint you here. Due to the migration from AOSP to Android TV, there is a deterioration in the supported file systems. NTFS is no longer supported on the Swisscom Box and Swisscom Box 21 with Android TV and there are currently no plans to support NTFS and ExFAT at a later date.
The use of USB sticks and hard drives has lost popularity and therefore it was decided to forego support for NTFS and ExFAT.
