It’s probably just a problem with my hardware that I can’t get a faster connection.
Would it be possible to carry out a test on all ports at the same time and test whether there is a faster connection overall than before?

CNLab also needs adaptation on the network. For now all you can do is wait. And yes, you can of course later start a donation test using x devices in parallel and then add them up. But the guys in the lab did it and it really goes up to 8.8 MBit/s if you use various LAN and WLAN devices in parallel.

    I know that I can’t receive a faster connection on my devices and that I don’t need a faster connection at the moment, but I would still like to know whether something has changed and whether my connection from the router to Swisscom is now well over 1Gbit/s.

    We are currently working on expanding the Internet Box Speedtest to 10Gbit/s. This will happen in the next few weeks.

    This will also be the only way to test the 10Gbit/s. As long as you have a subscription with the appropriate service speed, of course.

    It should also be mentioned that XGS-PON has a relatively large overhead. So you will measure approx. 8.2 / 8.0 GBit/s.

    As already explained, you will get a maximum of 2.5Gbit/s from the LAN. But you need the appropriate equipment.

    Theoretically, it is already possible to carry out tests across multiple ports using iperf3 or other measurement tools. But this requires a corresponding server in the network.

    In the laboratory, of course, we did this with the Internet-Box 3. This is to show that the IB3 can also utilize the speed of the new fiber optic technology aggregated across all ports (LAN and WLAN).

      Do I understand correctly that for a test over several ports, there must be a corresponding test server in the network that can handle 8 Gbit/s upload and download from one connection?

      And another question: I read in the community that the IB3 can manage up to around 4 Gbit/s upload and download via Wifi. Is that correct?
