Now the only question is whether the new release also recognizes which episodes of a series you have already recorded during series recordings. This doesn’t always have to be recorded twice or multiple times, which ultimately only costs valuable storage space. I’m excited and doubtful!
It would also be interesting to see whether the ‘already seen’ flag is no longer reset when a repeat is broadcast^^
@Kevauvoth39 you cannot download the update yourself, this happens automatically in the background, very important leave TV-Box in standby mode and never switch off the router.
At some point you will notice the dark mode interface, then you have received the update.
Hello, yes, because of impatience, does anyone know how exactly the rollouts are issued? Is it arbitrary or does the system have it? I’m only asking because my Eltern have had OS4 since Monday and I don’t and I live about 10 km away from them, so it’s not issued cantonally So regionally but arbitrarily, sorry, I’m not that impatient, I’d just be interested to know how it works??
thanks for info
happy weekend
hello @compu this question has been asked several times, you could ask Google for example and then click on this thread [here](https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Nutzung/Entertainment-OS3-2-Neue -Software version-f%C3%BCr-eure-TV-Box/m-p/570919#M41478) Come across it is described that swisscom does not structure geographically but rather according to logical groups
Hello @FredoBx
You have to wait until the update arrives.
There are several distribution intervals, after each one we see how the whole thing behaves.
Now the first tranche has been distributed and we have seen how much feedback there will be.
Perhaps there are still errors that are only discovered during large distribution. This way the distribution can still be stopped.
I would like to thank that the next distributions will take place at the beginning of the week when everyone is back at work.
Greetings Lorenz
Hi @Lori-77
Thanks for your answer.
I already understood what you wrote. But my question was different. I’ll try to rephrase it…
Someone wrote above that the box should be in standby mode so that the update is installed. So if my TV-Box comes in for the update, but it’s not in standby (or even switched off), will it still get the update later? Even during the day when it is on standby? Or does this only happen at night? Will it be tried every night? Or will the update be postponed, and if so, for how long? Or is it like with my cell phone, if I’m watching TV and the update comes out, I’ll be notified?
This is more of a “takes me wonder” question 🙂 I know that somehow and at some point I will get the update. It’s always worked so far.
Thank you and best regards
@FredoBx The only important thing is that you don’t switch the box off completely, i.e. unplug it from the power and/or mains. It must be accessible to Swisscom from “outside”, whether standby or on doesn’t matter. However, the update won’t just suddenly appear to you while you’re watching TV without your intervention. You will at least receive a message indicating that a new update is available. You can then confirm this immediately or click away and the box will be reloaded later.
Typically, such rollouts take around 3-4 weeks. At some point during this time your box will come back on after a failed update.
I always completely disconnect my SC box and the UHD box from the power when not in use. If an update is pending and I start the box, after a few minutes the message appears that a newer operating system is available and I can then confirm the update process.
So you don’t always have to have the speakers connected to power and thus waste energy unnecessarily.
