  • I haven’t received the update (test version) because the server my booster is connected to is not ready yet. So it still doesn’t work as it should for me
Since this problem probably occurs rarely, I imagine troubleshooting would be very difficult. Swisscom knows about it and they will definitely fix it. We just have to be a little patient.
The positive thing is that we learned something about the Internet. Namely, that it is very, very, very complex. 😉

  • Unfortunately, I only have Apple devices in my private life, so I can save electricity and take the booster off the grid.
But Swisscom is already working on a solution. We have already been contacted to load a beta onto the rooter, where the problem should no longer occur. But according to Swisscom, my booster is connected to a server that is not yet ready for the new backend. (You have to have that much luck first😆)

So wait until everything is up to date. And then it will definitely work again.

  • The problem still persists for me. The App Store on the iPhone, for example, only shows the message “No connection”. Even though the iPhone is online. And turning the “Private WLAN address” setting on or off doesn’t help. The simplest and stupidest solution is to unplug the booster, then all Apple services will work again on all devices.

  • Hello everyone,

    I have the same limitation.

However, at the beginning I didn’t have the problem when I put the booster into operation. About a month ago, the App Store stopped working on the Apple TV. Thought it was a software problem and quickly reset it. But when I tried to reset the Apple TV, I kept getting a message that the device wasn’t connected to the internet (even though it was connected via Ethernet) and the restore failed. Until after several hours I came up with the idea of connecting it to my iPhone’s hotspot. Then it worked. But then the Arcade part in the App Store only showed the message “Network error”.

Apple Music has stopped working on my iPhone for about two weeks when the iPhone is on WiFi, and the Homepod’s have been having problems playing music from Apple Music for several days.

Turning off the booster would be very annoying. I only have one copper line and it only gives 4 Mbit/s.

I’m not sure, but I believe the problem started after several small power outages in a row. Because everything worked for a year, but that’s just speculation.

  • Oh, wow!
Many thanks for the quick response!
I actually managed to switch the protocol to TCP. Although I have no idea what that means or does. (I work in accounting.) But the connection is there and it works. Now the speed test even shows 60 mpbs, which should be completely sufficient.

    Thank you. 😁

  • Internet Booster 5G with VPN

  • Hello everyone,

I have a question about the combination of Internet Box 3, Booster 5G and VPN connection.
The IT department has changed my Arbeitgeber and the new PC for the home office only works with an active VPN connection. However, this means that the connection no longer runs via the booster, but only via the old copper cable, where a simple video call becomes an absolute horror. (My solution was to connect to my workstation via my phone’s hotspot, but that’s not optimal in the long run). I was hoping you could just disconnect the landline and let all the traffic go through the booster, but then nothing works anymore.
Is there a hidden setting on the Internet box that needs to be changed so that the VPN connection(s) can run via the booster? Or do you have another suggestion. (I don’t have a fiber optic Anschluss 😉

The PC for the home office is connected via WIFI and has a speed of just under 7mbps with VPN, but with a booster it would be 200mbps.

Thank you in advance for the help.

    • Hi @Jebonnof81

      LG
