Mobile ID under iOs 18.4 beta no longer works

Hello together

I have installed the latest developer beta on my Iphone 16 and have noticed that Mobile ID has not been working for two versions of the beta. Just when I wanted to log in to this forum and entered my user name/password, I get a message that a notification for Mobile ID has been sent to my number. However, no such message appears on my phone (it was previously black on the home screen and wanted a code).

When testing on the Mobile ID website, it works perfectly via the app, the test via the SIM does not work (no message appears).

Is this a known problem?

I have the developer beta iOS 14.4 on my iPhone 14 PRo and no problems.

problems/bugs have been reported with this Beta version, for example in this discussion
iCloud private relay is disabled for your mobile plan - Swisscom Community

we’ll probably have to wait for the fixed bugs, look here for more information

Hello everyone just to announce you do not install iOS 18.4 beta it has a lot of bug after your mobile does not work properly it must wait for the final version 18.4 early month April 10 or April 12 it must wait I hope swisscom will soon activate the RCS on the iphone especially it works since last year.

Yes, do you have a problem with the iOS 18.4 beta yourself or is your hint just from hearing?

In my neighbourhood four have the beta iOS 18.4 and no problems, but it is the beta 4 which was made available last night.

WalterB I’ve also tried this several times, even took another SIM from a provider, doesn’t work either. seems to be a bug indeed… let’s wait and see what the final version will offer…

The Mobile ID SIM card or Mobile ID app can be deactivated via the internet portal https://www.mobileid.ch/de/my-mobile-id using the self-help tools. *You can reactivate a deactivated Mobile ID SIM or app later at any time.

Beta versions of iOS are always a bit of a gamble. They’re useful for previewing new features, but they’re not bug-free, especially on sensitive features like Mobile ID, which depends on several layers of software and operator compatibility.

Your problem seems to be linked to this beta version, and if re-registering didn’t resolve the situation, it’s probably a bug that Apple will have to fix in a future update. You can always report the issue via the Apple Feedback Assistant, but unfortunately there’s not much you can do in the meantime other than wait for the stable release of iOS 18.4.

That’s the ransom of betas: sometimes everything works, sometimes it breaks. If Mobile ID is essential to you, it’s best to avoid these test versions on a primary device.

Il il faut bien lire avant de répondre aux messages j’ai mis pour les gens qui prennent la bêta 18.4 il bug beaucoup il faut attendre la version finale j’ai oublié de dire que chez moi sa fonctionne très bien pas problème sa peut arriver que d’autre personne il ne fonctionne pas bien.
