We can’t say anything about new products at the moment. But you can assume that more interesting products will be waiting for you in 2025.

@rbisig it is a private customer product. There was previously an analysis of how often, for example, the 10 Gbit/s port on the IB4 is used. You can count them on just a few hands. Most devices out there support 1Gbps. If you have more devices like me, for example, that support 2.5 GBit/s or more, then you just have to buy a switch. And you shouldn’t forget that ports with higher speeds also require more power and are much more expensive.

According to the picture shown on the TV boxes, the “normal” IB5 will support DSL and fiber optics, just like the IB3. However, despite WiFi 7, this will probably not support the 6 GHz band.

The question arises as to whether the 10GB port also supports other speeds; I currently don’t have the Internet Box 3 with fiber optics. But we’ll get fiber optics in December. Now I have my own Netgear router behind the IB3 and it is currently connected to the 2.5GB port, of course I could connect 2 1GB ports. Of course it would be cool if I could still use the 2.5GB port.

As soon as we have fiber optic I will adapt the subscription and replace the existing IB3.

Sooner or later I plan to expand my router and my LAN to 10GB, but the corresponding hardware is still very expensive for private use, as I need 2 switches with at least 10 ports (I want ones where all ports are capable of 10GB)

The 10Gbps port is backwards compatible. You can also easily connect 2.5Gbps or 1Gbps devices etc. Works perfectly.

One can assume that. Whether, how and when exactly new WLAN boxes will appear is currently unknown.

Although I think if you don’t have a good client with four antennas, WiFi 7 won’t be of much use.

But you also have to say that the iPhone 16 Pro is a massive disappointment when it comes to Wifi7. No 320 MHz support & no real multilink operations. The advantages of Wifi7 are only used minimally.

You have to save the configuration in the old box. Either locally or in Kundencenter.

When you connect the new box, things like WiFi settings, telephones, WiFi boxes are taken over. Device names, port forwardings, VPN are not automatically restored. Simply after the new box lights up continuously white again, import the config file locally or import it from the Kundencenter. After that everything is as before.

Everything should actually be taken over.

To be on the safe side, it is better to back up the configuration of the previous IB to a local PC before changing the boxes so that you can restore it if there are any transfer problems.

If you use VPN connections to the home network, it is worth taking a closer look at the details of the VPN server on the IB5 Pro after changing the IB.
