Stupid and nasty question: I received on my three email addresses @Bluewin the message that I have to pay an additional subscription to not have advertising, does this mean that I would have to pay 3 × 1.90 for not having ads?

Show original language (French)

Good evening @Mategnin33

The service description states

If you have a Bluewin basic Internet and e-mail subscription, you can upgrade to the Bluewin pro e-mail offer. html) for CHF 1.90/month. You benefit from Bluewin email without advertising and more memory space (15 GB instead of 5 GB).

This therefore means that with CHF 1.90/month, it is the basic pack which becomes a pro pack, so the 5 addresses no longer have advertising in the webmail.

Bravo Mr. Rossel

I don’t think any less and in 2023 a decision on my part will come down and it’s probably

exit for Bluewin - Swisscom and other hungry wolves.

This thread explains how to remove advertising without spending a penny, you are not reading the solutions proposed. You just come whining here on this forum to tell us that you want to leave the blue giant’s ship.

So go see if the grass is greener elsewhere, without even taking your own bluewin email address.

Another trick, there are email addresses like Protonmail, mail.ch etc. free and without ads.

Exactly that, I like Swisscom, and this forum too which at least lets us express our disapproval.

Not because it’s bad elsewhere that it’s necessarily good here….

Should we stupidly say political correctness?

I find it petty on this one but overall and for historical reasons of my life I have remained loyal since the PTT Telecom to Swisscom for everything (TV, Internet, Mobile) just like to Postfinance in relation to the banks.

Just to say that we won’t read the ad or it’s counterproductive (well, this brand comes to me…. On my email…)

Yes 90% of the time I use the APP and 10% computer and webmail (or chrome on mobile computer display) so no problem!

Show original language (French)

@Jientiedeu76 Yes, this is unfortunately the case now, there is still the possibility of taking out a subscription for 1.90 CHF. You can also use a free email program, for example Thunderbird, which will not display advertising.

In the e-mail box, a ribbon indicates that in future Swisscom customers will have to make do with a truncated page, because a third of the page will be used for advertising.

This decision makes it almost impossible to read emails.

We are told that the removal of advertising will be possible for a fee of CHF 1.90/month.

My God, what misery!

Shouldn’t Swisscom, which is already one of the most expensive operators on the market, care about the well-being of its customers and reverse this basely mercantile decision?

thank you for reading the content of this discussion about advertising

explanations have already been provided to avoid this problem 😁

no advertising on App blue News or any other external messaging service

(Thunderbird, Outlook, App Mail on smartphone or tablet, etc.)

only on Webmail with Bluewin e-mail light at CHF 0.- and Bluewin e-mail basic at CHF 0.-

Good morning,

Swisscom cannot decide to change the contract conditions at will by imposing advertisements in WebMail which has so far been without advertising and charging to remove the advertising. It’s illegal. Simply by its position in the market, Swisscom seeks to impose these decisions for greater profits.

I have been a Swisscom customer for longer and I use Webmail.

You should understand user dissatisfaction and address it as soon as possible.

Thank you for your understanding.

@Jothaukesch11

Good morning

Yes, it would be entirely conceivable to remove the advertisements.

All this while increasing the base price of the subscription, frankly what you want???

Because you think it’s illegal, I suggest you hire a good lawyer!

I recall YariB’s response in post number 34 which is taken from the legal service description documents:

Excerpt from the chapter on modifications:

Changes to prices and services Swisscom reserves the right to adapt its prices, services, special conditions and offer conditions at any time

Hello Doremi,

I find your response extremely disrespectful and rude to a customer.

Swisscom has the right to modify its services and the customer actually has the right to terminate his contract accordingly.

Following this response, I would not fail to do “advertising” for Swisscom, particularly towards the Fédération romande des consommateurs, just like Swisscom which wishes to broadcast advertising to us.

-“I find your response extremely disrespectful and impolite towards a customer.”-

First of all, you are on a forum where everyone speaks informally. Here we are customers like you and the principle of this forum and help between customers.

The solutions for having an ad-free and free email address have been proposed on this discussion thread but for that you have to read them before posting and persist in telling us that this is not legal.

Dear community member

Your contributions are important to us. So that they resonate, we cultivate constructive communication. This is why, within the Swisscom community, we apply the following principles:

  1. Address everyone on familiar terms.
  2. Always do research beforehand: before asking a question, check that the answer has not already been given.
  3. Be precise: describe your request in as much detail as possible. Indicates device type, measurements, connections, error messages, etc.
  4. Accept solutions: When you receive a response to your request, mark it as a solution.
  5. Protect your data: your contributions are public. So avoid providing personal information.
  6. Show respect: Address others as you would like to be spoken to. Provocations and insults are not tolerated.
  7. Disparaging, defamatory, racist, pornographic and similar contributions are prohibited.
  8. Links to other websites are permitted, or even desired, but only if they are related to Swisscom or the topics covered by the latter.
  9. In the event of non-compliance with the rules, Swisscom reserves the right to shorten or delete contributions without further notice. Moderators decide on their own the sanctions to be applied in the event of infractions (from warning to permanent blocking).

Have you noticed a contribution that goes against the rules? In this case, use the reporting function directly on the contribution in question.

If in doubt, you can contact the moderators by private message.

Good morning,

Is there a way to deactivate or reduce advertisements on swisscom webmail because they take up half of my screen? It’s disturbing to work.

Best regards,

Emily

@Emily275

There are actually only two possibilities:

A) Use an email program (Thunderbird, Outlook), then there is no advertising.
B) take a subscription for 1.90 Chf per month

You can also use an add-blocker, in which case the place where the advertising is located remains white.

Good morning,

No, there is no way to reduce the size of this ad, other than paying 1.90/month to remove it.

You can also use a mailer, a program to read your emails on a computer or mobile phone, like Mail on Apple, or Outlook (and others) on Windows.
