Hello everyone

The software update 3.117.6 is available for your UHD TV boxes, which will be distributed to all Swisscom TV customers in stages over the next week. The update will install EOS4.0 on your TV-Box. These are the innovations:

The best content, now even more in focus

With EOS4.0, content comes first! With the remote control you can browse through the content like in a magazine. Large images and short contents make it easier to find things at the top menu level and you will be served 5 new and interesting daily tips every day on the home screen. The user interface was completely designed in a dark appearance to make the content on Swisscom TV stand out even more.

More personalization, more possibilities

EOS4.0 offers you more entertainment options on your TV-Box than ever before. At the bottom of the home screen you can adjust the arrangement of the bands and design them according to your needs. You can record your favorite series across channels so you never miss an episode. In addition, the sports section has been revised and expanded to include league pages, which will keep you up to date on football, tennis and much more.

The new Voice Assistant: So much more than just TV

The new Voice Assistant is finally available on the UHD TV-Box! As before, you can control the assistant with the microphone button on your remote control. All series, films, sports events, but also music playlists, photos and games are just a voice command away. With the Voice Assistant you can also control your smart home devices and intelligently network your home. You can find an overview of all available commands here. The range of available voice commands is constantly expanding.

Binge watching and skipping commercials for a perfect evening of series

The recordings on Swisscom TV have never been so easy to use. For selected channels, your recordings will now start exactly at the time the program was broadcast. Binge watching allows you to watch episodes of your favorite series seamlessly. And your box recognizes advertising in your recordings and lets you skip them. This is how entertainment should be!

Seamless Netflix integration

Netflix is shown even more prominently on Swisscom TV. Your most popular content on Netflix will now be displayed right on your home screen, allowing you to instantly immerse yourself in your content.

Why can you no longer switch the Guide view from standard to magazine on the new TV box?

Please reintroduce this function under Guide Option.

This has to do with the new background, which now covers the entire TV.

Sorry, that has nothing to do with the background. In the new TV box it is simply missing from the guide options to change the batten view as was the case with the previous version.

Yup, you’re right, I don’t have this option either, and you can no longer just filter by channel, but only by category of channel.

It may happen again, but someone from Swisscom’s final development department has to tell you that. @UrsSch

Sorry, just a quick question:

What does it mean to filter channels according to “specialties”? Would “Division” in the TV Guide mean the same as “Genre” in the Kundencenter.. channel lists?

Filtering by channel was a clumsy formulation anyway.

Press “Option”

go to “Filter by channels”

There you can filter a few generics.

I think it’s a shame that you can no longer swap the color of font and background in the TV Guide: I just don’t like reading white characters against a black background. I’ll just install the “old” box again.

But it’s of little use to you if you connect the UHD box. This will also receive the new update in the next few weeks, unless you still have an old HD box. This will no longer receive the new software.

At some point the reserve warehouse will also be empty of the replacement boxes. And it’s no longer worth refreshing the old ones that were sent back… Cost Benefit

Before that there will certainly be a promo that allows you to make a change…

But I have a calculation in my head.

For the HD box, the price for an additional television including rent was CHF 5.

Assuming a rent of 1.–, other costs remained 4.–, which remain the same for the UHD box.

Since the UHD box has to be purchased, there is a hidden price surcharge of 25 0/0 for additional televisions.

Am I seeing this wrong?

My Swisscom box switched to dark mode last night. How do I get rid of this nonsense?

Afaik there is/was only the dark mode at the Swisscom Box from the beginning - I don’t know it any other way…

Only with the UHD box (OS3.2) is it possible to switch.

I don’t know at the moment whether there is still the option to switch with the UHD box with OS4.0

A nice lady in customer support found out that dark mode has been set as the default since OS4.0 and it is not possible to change.

You get used to it after a few days, but I wasn’t that keen at first! 😉

In any case, the new OS and its innovations outweigh the “dark mode”.
