Hello everyone
Tonight the Internet Box reported internet problems. After a reboot the message disappeared, but the download was reduced from 120,000 kbit/s to 50,000 kbit/s. The upload is still at 40,000.
Here are the values of the box

Now the speed is back to normal

What does the checker show you at the link below?

The checker values correspond to the calculated profile at the entered address. The Synch. Speed is a gross value from which the Internet overhead and a safety margin must be deducted. The next deeper profile is then “switched” in the network element so that the DSLAM does not receive too much than the line can transport.
@Schnuepfli: the line looks great, you’ve even gained 4 mbps in the upstream since changing the router. I don’t see the dip you mentioned on the line, although I only look at the total values over 24 hours.

I’ll keep an eye on that. And yes the IB3 connects at higher speeds. 😉 In any case, the break-in this morning was already striking.
The Dyn DNS is still displayed incorrectly.

P.S. I’m always amazed at what you can get out of 2 copper wires.
Hi Everyone, MichelB @Anonym,
Back on track with latest update 11.00.32.
Positive:
- WPA3 is activated, that a really good point
- Wireless now show the Channel bandwidth (that depends on environment, neighbour wireless)
Negative:
- It now show 1Gbit/s (10 Gbit/s previously) that bad:/. It might be right due to Tranceiver limitation - 1 Gbit/s - Do you plan to provide a 10 Gbit/s tranceiver? For my understanding it must show the Access Speed value, ports a really 10 Gbit/s (??)
- Swisscom HD Phone: ring, answer, but no sound. Fixed by activating Analogue Corded telephone, even I do not have any Analgue Corded phone connected.
So far it works as expected; more easier on Fiber connection
Hello everyone
Before I use the error reporting link: Have any of you also attached an external storage medium to the IB3 and need the IB3’s central storage? Since I tested IB3, access has become a lot less stable compared to IB2.
There are problems primarily with access from iOS devices from the Files app via smb://xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx. It works easily with the PC. I attached an external Samsung 250 GB SSD to the USB3 port. The problem appears as follows: Files/directories are not displayed. Files cannot be opened. A connection cannot be established at all.
And I know: It doesn’t replace a NAS. I only need the central storage for the scan-to-file function of my HP multifunction device.

So far I have always used NTFS. As far as I know, the maximum size for FAT32 is 4 GB. But try this weekend with a small USB stick and FAT32. Maybe that could be better.
The 4GB refers to the file size and not to the size of the memory!
I also have NTFS with a 500GB SSD.
Addendum: Instead of the 500GB SSD, which is formatted with NTFS, I have now connected a 128GB USB stick with FAT32 to the IB3 and I can now copy entire folders from the PC or iMAC to the NAS without any problems, so there is a problem with NTFS!

What actually always works best on non-Swisscom routers as a format for directly connected storage is the Linux format Ext4.
I don’t know whether this would be the case on an Internet box (also Linux-based).
Maybe someone who actually wants to operate a storage device on the Internet box would like to try it out.
If you want to format the Ext4 memory on a Windows computer, you still need a small utility program, as Windows does not support native Ext4.

Hello @WalterB
I have a 32GB USB stick with IB3 formatted as FAT32. So far everything is OK and no more problems with iOS. When it comes to available storage space, it now shows up on the IB3

to. Is that the case with you too? LG René

I have NTFS format again and the storage space is displayed!

hello everyone
Sonos runs correctly with the ib3. For me it keeps “swallowing” speakers. stp is not activated.
Sonos Playbase has been connected to IB3 for months without any problems.
What is “stp”?
