@roku73

I even personally demonstrated this to some people around me and the feedback was “devastating”. People want to use their Internet/TV/Tel. - Anschluss simply have nothing to do at home, i.e. they just want to switch on the PC or the TV or take the DECT cell phone off the charger and they expect it to always work without having to use any app.

Topics such as remote access to the home network or making free calls abroad via the home app also do not attract interest. The few freaks who are interested know how to do it anyway because they’ve needed it for a long time and therefore don’t need instructions on YouTube.

Many people I know don’t even want to know anything about Kundencenter mySwisscom or SimplyDigital. If you have a problem, call 0800 800 800 as you have done for decades or visit a Swisscom shop and it will be fine. After a long period of persuasion, I finally managed to get all of my friends to move away from paper invoices and the associated expenses. At least they got to know the mySwisscom portal because they now visit it regularly, download the invoices, print them out and store them in the folder as usual.

As the saying goes: constant dripping wears away the stone - if enough users get in touch, Swisscom might react and hope dies last.

I honestly don’t think so. Usually something is canceled because it is simply not used enough. Unfortunately, if only a fraction of the users report again, it’s like the famous storm in a teacup.

That’s not true. The landline home app was also used by many companies in their home office. The point is that Swisscom, as an expensive provider, is once again burying an extra. That’s why I canceled my Swisscom telephony subscription.

  • Ber likes that.

I found it a bit strange when I was using Home App that the homepage still asks “do you like Home App”. Do you still do surveys like this when the Home App is already basically buried?

It would probably be difficult to remove this function. Then just leave it.

In a large company where the left hand doesn’t always know what the right hand is doing, this can take several months.

Presumably no one has an overview of where there are references to the HomeApp (e.g. in the IB operating instructions, on Twitter, Insta, countless websites, in printed brochures, and …

Swisscom is still advertising the HomeApp in many places. Even after the shutdown, all references to this will probably not be deleted and all employees will be informed.

Let’s hope that if this is actually due to too few users, the number of users will increase.

Where else is this being advertised, even where potentially new customers see it before the deal is completed?

@Stauldoteiy82

The Home app was only recently advertised on the information/advertising screens in the shops, but I don’t know whether that has been switched off/deleted in the meantime.

Then the link to the home app can also be found in the IB operating instructions, both the printed version that is sent with the box and online:

Or here:

Swisscom Home App – Apps on Google Play

A notice has now been posted here:

Swisscom Home App - The intelligent remote control | Swisscom

And yes, the information and links on the various Swisscom channels regarding the Home app are becoming fewer and fewer.

    The question also arises as to which functions users use.

    If it is just functions that are contained in the mySwisscom app, then it will not bother these users if the home app is switched off.

    Are there other apps besides “myStrom Home” to be able to manage multiple providers such as Sonos or Philips HUE.
    Personally, I had a few scenes set up and found it very practical. Anyone have an alternative?

    Try “Home connect plus” from Bosch. Can do a lot of things except IKEA

    ….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

    a month later

    I have now read all 134 entries.

    It’s typical that Swisscom doesn’t get in touch and, as is often the case, simply sleeps.

    I took the trouble to email Swisscom directly about discontinuing the HomeApp. There I was in contact with an employee of the month who suffers from extreme overestimation of his own self-esteem. I pointed out the reduction in performance, which for me meant discontinuing the HomeApp, and asked by what Betrag the subscription costs would be reduced.

    This email exchange with Swisscom was a real ping-pong game and culminated in the Swisscom employee of the month pointing out that the subscription costs had not increased with the introduction of the HomeApp.

    I am now a lifelong Swisscom customer (several mobile subscriptions (Europe and world - no, I want to make calls from abroad with my landline number), blue TV, cloud, landline, etc., etc.).

    My monthly fee, which I pay to Swisscom, is not without its costs.

    For me, the consequence of switching off the Swisscom HomeApp is that I can no longer make calls abroad using my Swisscom landline phone number.

    Unfortunately, I am not so IT-savvy that I can easily install SIP on our iPhones.

    I’ve been thinking about changing for a long time now and these 134 entries support my thoughts. Too bad.
