First of all, I would like to note that Swisscom and Wingo Natel subscriptions are used in our household.
Since I know that friendly Swisscom employees are also reading here, I’m asking my question here.
Why is the Swisscom Abo for 80 Fr.- limited to 200 Mbit/s and with Wingo you always surf at maximum speed with all subscriptions?

@Globi is just marketing. With Wingo you have less service, but you get maximum speed.
With SC subscription you have premium service, therefore less speed.
It lights up, right?
P.S.: The support service is the most cost-intensive factor of a provider and nobody has anything to give away.
Ultimately, it’s about a type of price differentiation whereby using second brands creates an additional protective barrier compared to the premium brand.
Today, of course, everyone should or at least could decide for themselves whether the “premium” still delivers what they hope for. There are some who do that and others who don’t. Hence price differentiation.
How often do you need mobile support? I think I can count it on one hand in 20 years.

You really have to imagine the pure brand “Wingo” from Swisscom (Switzerland) AG as the pure brand “M Budget”, which is also not a subsidiary of Migros.
The contractual partner for all Wingo products is always Swisscom (Switzerland) AG, which also manages and is responsible for the business of the “Wingo” brand with its own employees.

In order to predict the upcoming “moves” in the Wingo brand, you can always look a little at the innovations in Sunrise’s discount competitor brand Yallo.
Yallo now offers 5G as an option for CHF 4.50/month.
If this sells really well, Wingo won’t have to wait much longer for it…

Yes, this answer from Wingo was clear. They are unlikely to say on day X we will also have 5G. It will come, the question is simply when. It was the same with 4G. In the beginning only with the 3 big providers and today… 4G is a given everywhere. The question is also about the price. In the beginning you will probably have to pay a surcharge to use 5G. But that is of course speculation.
Well, I have to say that I recently felt quite ‘disgusted’ in the UK with my Wingo subscription… Partly in the LTE network only 5mbits in the download, where my sister is with me the mobile go young received almost 95mbits….
However, 5G is still missing in Switzerland, which would of course improve competition with the cheaper Yallo. At least on paper - because admittedly, Wingo or the cheapest Swisscom Abo is better than Yallo…
