IB2 is not flat but high, you probably have the IB standard!

If you go into the menu you will see what is displayed there with the flashing.

If flat, then you have the Internet Box Standard.

How does it blink?

Is it flashing red?

Does it flash alternately red - white - red etc.

It just flashes white, instead of constantly white without flashing as before….

Then you can do the following:

Restart

or

Register again at: Swisscom.ch/Registration

or

Hold down the reset button for at least 3 seconds (if phone numbers are saved, make a backup first)

Thank you very much for your support.

First I pressed a button. It said “do not switch off due to firmware update”. After the button on the far right came “Connect device” then “Connect DECT device”. After every 2 minutes “Connection failed”. I have no idea what kind of device I should have connected. When I pressed the middle button, it responded normally again (without a new update display), but continued to flash white.

I then pulled the main plug and plugged it back in after 30 seconds. Then the red light and “start up” kept coming. Successful start. Then after a while white started to flash again and it started again on its own (with a constant red light). Now everything is back to normal, the white light is on without blinking…

Since the firmware update (08.01.08), the following no longer works in the interaction between Internet Box 2 and HD Phones Montreux: no signaling on the telephone in the event of missed calls, no list of available calls (green “handset button”). And yes: all resets and new registrations have already been done.:smileywink:

Hello everyone

A very good friend has been using the InternetBox 2 for quite some time.

I looked at its installation and was very amazed… because the telephony is connected to one of the LAN sockets, to an RJ45… and I’m actually amazed that the whole thing works. Because we wanted to connect the new HD telephones directly to the DECT Eco Anschluss box.

Is it possible that the RJ45 connections are simply pulled through from the RJ11?

I’m sure someone can explain that to me.

@urmel_winti there are 3 ways to operate telephones on the IB2.

1. via DECT connection (wireless)

2. via the ATA interface of the IB2 (RJ11 connectors)

3. via the VOIP protocol, LAN-Anschluss (RJ 45-Anschluss)

The phone must also support the VOIP protocol.

There are different variants.

1. analogue telephones which are connected to the gray sockets, or which are fed back into the existing internal telephone network using a digital socket from the router (Internet box).

2. HD phones which are connected directly to the DECT station from the Internet box.

3. HD phones that are connected to the LAN (Ethernet), e.g. a Rousseau base station.

IP phones with cable, e.g. Table stations, are connected via the network (RJ45). Works well. And if your friend has decent house wiring, he can operate a PC or telephone on any RJ45-Anschluss, regardless of whether it is an analog phone (with tone dialing) or an IP phone. He just needs to patch the cables properly.

This is actually only possible with ISDN telephones if their software supports VoIP. Finally, the analog devices have either a TT-83 or RJ11-Anschluss.

There are adapters telephone cable RJ11/12 to RJ45!

I’m very excited.

We will only operate the two new Davos HD phones directly via DECT, which is better with the new IB2.

We will then dispose of everything else, such as telephony, correctly

@WalterB: Yes, yes, but why? It’s illogical, because Swisscom only supplies one adapter for TT83 > RJ11 anyway. So use the connections first and then buy an adapter. That’s how I would do it and if customers don’t need the TT83>RJ11 adapter, I always take it with me. There are many mobile phones with base stations where the adapters can be used. What’s the point behind such an RJ11>RJ45 adapter?

The purpose is house wiring that can be used universally. A network cable (Cat5e, Cat6, all 8 wires/pins occupied) can be used for network, IP telephony, analog telephony, ISDN, fax, etc. You use the patch panel (distribution to the different rooms) to determine which cable is to be used for what. So I lead all 6 connections from the IB2 (4x Ethernet and 2x Analogtel) with Ethernet to the patch panel in the basement and then decide which room I want to forward my analogue telephone or the Ethernet connection to. Ultimately, it doesn’t matter to the installed Ethernet cable whether all 8 wires are used for a gigabit network or only 2 wires for analog telephony.

To do this, I need patch cables for analog telephony that adapt from RJ45 to RJ11, because all of my connections in the house are RJ45.

No, for me the telephony with the 08.01.08 and the Montreux (SC100vH0048) works as it should. The missed calls are displayed and the list is also available.

Since yesterday evening I suddenly can no longer connect to the IB2’s 5GHz WiFi. I’ve tried various things: Settings with and without a password, different distances to the IB2, resetting to factory settings, different devices (laptop, smartphone), etc. Everything fails. The name of the network is displayed, but a connection cannot be established. What could be the reason for this?
