[Bug Report] Centro Grande and UPnP problem

Good morning,

I’ve been having major Centro Grande (Pirelli) router stability issues recently: lost connection, unstable WiFi, unresponsive router, etc. After investigation, I realized that the problem comes from the UPnP implementation on the router. I use Forwarding on Mac, which is capable of using UPnP to automatically map ports to a forwarder. By removing the UPnP option, no more problems (over 2 weeks, no drops). So, if your Centro Grande is unstable, disable UPnP from the router and any programs that might use it. It worked for me…

Thank you for giving a Swisscom solution.

Centro Grande routers have undergone firmware updates to correct certain bugs, including UPnP bugs. The dates match your post. Nothing exceptional then. Sorry.

    Good morning,

    After the transformer in my old router failed, I went to the swisscomshop to try to replace it. The model being old, no more transformer available. So they gave me a centro grande. And since then, of course, the same problems as mentioned above.

    The installed firmware is 7.8.6r13 (factory software version). So firmware updates don’t really change the problem; I have to restart the router every 24 hours or so I experience interruptions to the point of being completely unable to connect to the router.

    On the other hand, the Wi-Fi is still there. No cut on this side. It seems to me that it is the router which no longer accepts, after a certain time, that I connect. If I ping on it I get no response, however I connect to the wi-fi without further ado!?!?

    I have a very strong opinion to see if this router flies better than it works and to take out a subscription to the telenetwork which offers at least as good.

            Crigou I’m going to take a look because after unchecking the “activate UPnP” box last night, I had to restart the router again a few minutes ago, although the Wi-Fi was working normally

                I took a look, the subject was discussed,…… so what?

                No solutions to KNOWN problems!! of this M router, apart from changing router + changing subscription + switching to optical fiber.

                I’m going to test this router with a disc throw as soon as I’m connected to the telenetwork!; I think it must have flown up to 30 m, more than enough to crash into a “Swiss-made” concrete wall as well.

                      I noticed that after plugging it in, my disconnections stopped.

                      I’m still waiting for my VDSL visit, which should take place within 3 days.
