Bluewin: New subscriptions and new webmail

  • Dear community

We have updated the Bluewin email subscriptions and the [Bluewin webmail](https://webmail. bluewin.ch/) modernized.

New 3 instead of 4 email subscriptions

    bluewin-abos-printscreen-1620x830-de.png

The basic subscription is therefore subject to a fee. There’s more storage, ad-free webmail in a fresh design and the new Exchange function for easy synchronization of emails, calendars, contacts and tasks on your smartphone. Discover subscriptions

    For existing email customers

All existing subscriptions will automatically switch to the new subscriptions in the coming months. After the change, everyone with a previous basic or pro will receive the new Bluewin email basic for 3 months free of charge. This means that the new functions such as Exchange and the ad-free webmail can be tested at your leisure. If you previously had a Bluewin E-Mail basic and were only using 1 email address and less than 90% of 1 GB of storage space at the time of the switch, you will automatically switch to the free Bluewin E-Mail light subscription at the end of the 3 months.

At the same time as you change your subscription, you will also have access to the new webmail.

For new Bluewin email customers, the modernized webmail and the new email subscriptions are now available. The old email subscriptions are no longer available.

    Adjust subscription flexibly

You can change your Bluewin email subscription at any time in My Swisscom. For example, if you expand your subscription to a Bluewin email basic or advanced, you benefit from more storage space, easy synchronization of your account with your cell phone and ad-free webmail. If you switch to the free Bluewin email light, first determine the email address you want to keep in My Swisscom (primary email account). Please note that to do this you must first clean up or [save](https:// www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/e-mail/datenexport.html).

We will inform everyone with a previous basic or pro email subscription about the changes by email. You can also find all the information here: www.swisscom.ch/bluewin-neu

If you have any questions, please feel free to share them with us. The community helps you find answers.

    Best regards

    • Hallo @Jolly

      Zahnrad-Menü -> Alle Einstellungen -> Mail -> Lesen -> Element der E-Mail-Liste -> Textvorschau anzeigen -> deaktivieren (Haken weg)

      Fragezeichen -> Hilfe oder Einführungstour.

I’m sorry, but that’s unbelievable, MyCloud all over

In general, I don’t think it’s okay that customers suddenly have to pay for something that was free, even if they were informed beforehand. There are many people who still have a few old Bluewin email addresses in their account and don’t even know that they exist

Bluewin Mail was also one of the only reasons not to switch to Wingo, my grandparents currently have the 40 Mbit/s Internet subscription, 2x TV-Box (i.e. normal multiroom), Telephony S (only for accessibility, they have only been making calls with their cell phones for a long time since they are often at the 2nd place of residence that does not have a Anschluss) and 2 email addresses. Well, that’s it, I’ll take care of the Wingo change there, like we already did with the cell phones, where they both had the Basic Mobile S with not even unlimited data throughout Switzerland, for 5 Fr. less per month you can get it at Wingo Unlimited throughout Europe, but since you don’t need that, they both have the Wingo Swiss Pro for 22.95 Fr. a month, which is still offers significantly more than the over 50% expensive subscription from before

On the other hand, I find the switch to Exchange exciting

For most people who earn well, there probably won’t be much misunderstanding, but there are many older users who have a very tight budget and only need the simplest subscriptions.

@WalterB Yes, it’s not even about the money, I don’t think a few more francs a month will ruin anyone and if so, then hopefully these people have already invested the time to find a cheaper provider change

For me it’s more about the fact that Swisscom offers less and less for its customers and always advertises with right-wing promotions for new customers (getting an expensive piece of electronics for free if you take out a subscription with them). And in doing so, you take away many of the “goodies” that you had as a Swisscom customer (namely, the 250 GB of MyCloud storage, free 5 GB for 5 email addresses). At the same time, Wingo is getting more and more functions (full TV software, 5G option, real multi-SIM, almost the same router firmware as Swisscom). In my opinion, the difference between Wingo and Swisscom is getting smaller and smaller, which is good on the one hand because it makes the switch easier, but on the other hand it is a bit off for long-time Swisscom customers. For me the whole thing is relatively irrelevant, I’m not attached to any provider, not even Wingo, so when there was the Quickline free subscription campaign I canceled or ported my Wingo subscription very quickly

When will the new webmail go online? I still see the old one.

Or have I missed something and the new webmail is only available with pro and advanced?

No, this will already be available to everyone, but you still missed something: “All existing subscriptions will automatically switch to the new subscription in the coming months. At the same time as you switch your subscription, you will also have access to the new one Webmail.”

Ergo, as soon as you are migrated to the new subscription, you will have the new webmail.

    Pling….

    The Zwänzger is strange.

    Thanks for the clarification.

What about the pro and advanced subscriptions? Is webmail still only possible with Swisscomlogin, so that you have access to all email accounts in webmail? Or can accesses in webmail now be separated?

All email addresses that are in the same Swisscom login are also available in webmail. The representation, or However, the change is a little different than before, see the question “How do I switch between my email accounts” on www.swisscom.ch/bluewin-neu. Accounts back and forth?"

    Hello everyone

    - blue TV S from 5.- to 14.90

    - blue Internet S from 60.- to 64.90

    - Multiroom from 5.- to 9.90

    - Bluewin E-Mail basic from 0.- to 2.90

Am I just saying, or am I now also financing the Vodafone Italia purchase? There are probably a lot of email basic customers who will frown. You don’t want to give up the @Bluewin.ch quality feature of the email address. The ridiculous 10 centime round-offs (suitable for Aldi/Lidl and Co.) don’t make it any better either.

No, the purchase of VF Italy is self-financing.

You finance the best mobile network and the expensive (and even more expensive due to Comco) FTTH expansion. You also finance the further development of various services (TV, e-mail, etc.), the great service, the CO2-neutral conversion and of course the legitimate profit that the owners demand.

I’ve been with Swisscom all my life, but I’m now considering a change. I first read about the price increases for TV and now E-Mail Basic in the media, and as a customer I will be informed at some point.

And as others write: As a loyal customer you always pay the full prices, new customers receive 6-12 months discounts, a free Play Station 5 for a while, or other things. (Exactly the new customers who then drop out after the 12 months and go somewhere else and collect the new customer bonuses there again.)

I’m not demanding that regular customers receive gifts; it’s just that all providers, not just Swisscom, constantly attract customers with such offers. I question how profitable this is. Because apparently Swisscom can’t even afford to give a customer who pays 89 francs for an internet subscription a few email addresses without charging extra fees.

I turn on my TV box maybe once a month, so the old subscription for 5 francs was just right. I will definitely cancel the TV subscription if the price increases and watch TV on rare occasions via some free service or via the websites of the TV providers themselves. (Swisscom is already losing money here…) As soon as the email costs come up, I’ll see what I’ll do then. Since I don’t want to lose my long-standing email addresses, I’m just making sure to reduce or cancel some of my other subscriptions.

But this is the wrong place to complain, I’ll do it (politely) elsewhere.

I have also been a long-time Swisscom customer and have to seriously consider changing provider. Prices rise and quality falls. There are always problems, especially with Swisscom TV, and the TV-Box has to be restarted again and again.

So with the new email light I can no longer see the emails on the iPhone because I only have IMAP?

Or what are the differences between IMAP and Exchange?

    Show original language (German)

    Hi @Grip72

Until now, Bluewin Mail was always “only” IMAP - you can easily synchronize folders with IMAP. You can now synchronize contacts and calendars via Exchange.

The difference between the protocols is [here](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/e-mail/einrichten/swisscom-server-information.html#acc-oiQ0rA%5Bselected%5D%5B%5D =1) explains:

With Exchange ActiveSync (EAS) you can access and manage your emails, calendars, contacts and tasks on your smartphone.

    • Synchronization: emails, calendars, contacts and tasks
    • Compatible with Mail App (iOS) and Gmail App (Android)
    • Available with Bluewin E-Mail pro and Bluewin E-Mail advanced

With IMAP (Internet Message Access Protocol) you can access and manage your emails on all devices.

    • Synchronization: emails only
    • Compatible with almost all email apps and programs (Android, iOS, Windows, Mac)
    • Available with Bluewin E-Mail light, Bluewin E-Mail pro, Bluewin E-Mail advanced

With POP3 (Post Office Protocol Version 3) you can download your emails from the server to a local device. The emails are then deleted from the server.

    • No synchronization (only downloading emails)
    • Limited sync features between devices
    • Available with Bluewin E-Mail light, Bluewin E-Mail basic, Bluewin E-Mail advanced

When I read the press release today. Did I take that to mean that there is no longer a free BLUEWIN address? Is that the case now or not?

    * Hotmail, GMX and various other providers can do it worldwide… and Swisscom shouldn’t be able to do it?

or is the press release just a bit wrong?
