Yes, I am a tenant. That sentence was never in there. But I don’t think it should be in there like that either. It says: “The building can be connected to fibre optics”. In our case, it’s already connected with fibre optics and only the fibre optic socket needs to be installed.

Maybe there was a mistake because so far I have seen this notice with all tenants who had a Swisscom ABo and lived for rent and as you saw yourself the landlord probably got a hint.

And I see the message for all rental properties that fibre is available with 10 Gbit/s sync as in my screenshot above. At least that seems to be the standard. For properties that have any expansion difficulties or that the administration does not want, there is probably a different message.

roman70 As soon as the property has installed a BEP with P2P lines, you can order fibre optics. The checker remains at this status because the expansion is complete from a network construction perspective. The “interior expansion” or expansion of the riser zone is carried out “on-demand” for MFH, i.e. each time a migration to fibre optic is ordered, the corresponding fibre is pulled from the BEP and the fibre optic socket is installed.

          OK, thanks for the reply.

But then the Swisscom employee who called directly after the order was not quite correct. I was told that the management of my property wanted to hire an electrician themselves to install the sockets in the property. However, nobody at the property management company knew anything about this.

What are the best keywords to send to the administration in St. Gallen? Everyone I’ve called so far has been clueless, even though this is the Eastern Switzerland property management department of a large Swiss insurance company. Do they simply have to initiate this at Swisscom and the socket will then be installed at my place?

          Show original language (German)

roman70 That’s right, because the management probably wants their in-house electrician to carry out the installations. If it’s the same management as on your left and right, then they should know how it works.

            • The electrician must be commissioned by the management to pull the fibre and set the OTO.
            • The electrician must then report to the construction service that he has received the BEP report so that he can splice the correct fibres.
            • After the work is done, he reports this again to the construction service so that this is inventoried correctly.
            • Now you can trigger the change of services to fibre optic in mySwisscom. The fibre from Plug 2 is then plugged into the correct splitter at the central office. Now you can plug the SFP into the router (IB3) and connect the fibre optic cable. That’s it.

In contrast, the response from the administration. I will now have to make sure that Swisscom sends these possible agreements to the administration:

              Thank you for your message.

I have now been able to search through the documents again and cannot actually find any such agreement on our part. The connection was pulled into the house. The socket in the flat is the tenant’s responsibility. I therefore cannot really understand Swisscom’s statement.

However, if there is such an agreement and it was not filed with us at the time, I am extremely sorry. In this case, I would be happy if Swisscom could send me this agreement. We would then instruct the electrician immediately.

I’m sorry I can’t give you any other information.

However, our hands are tied under these circumstances.

As you can see, it’s not always so easy as a tenant until everything is finished, but you already have the connection in the house and I don’t have that. ☹

If it’s the same administration as on your left and right, then they should know how it works.

Or is it the other way round? :-) I now know from Netzbau that the “Landlord” note is only present on the part of the building that was subsequently developed and initially forgotten. Not on the left and right of it. This leads me to assume that this note was inadvertently entered in this part of the building. There is also absolutely nothing in writing from the administration that contains this landlord entry for precisely this part of the building (yes, I know that doesn’t necessarily mean anything, but it does fit in with the other indications and also confirms them). Item, the gentleman from Netzbau, with whom I had contact, now also assumes, based on all these facts, that the entry is erroneous. He is now trying to have it corrected on the basis of my explanation and the information from the administration that they are not aware of any such agreement. For data protection reasons, he is not allowed to disclose further details to me personally. That is the current status. In any case, Swisscom has not yet been able to provide the administration with a copy of any agreement or contract.

Got an answer from the area manager for network construction. It’s maturing and maturing…

*Your assessment regarding the data error is correct. We have now corrected the address [XXXXXX-Strasse] 7. I assume that the correction will be applied to all our systems tomorrow. If your order is not automatically adjusted, please place it again.

I apologise for our error in data collection.

                *Best regards

The back and forth at Swisscom between “Administration Specialist” and “Network Construction” is still going on. :-(
