Blue Sport Replay not possible?

  • Hello everyone

I just subscribed to Blue Sport for a month as a test. I use the app on Android TV. I don’t have any other TV subscriptions (i.e. only free).

This works LIVE so far. But replay doesn’t work. Football matches cannot be watched retrospectively.

    Is that normal?

    Best regards,

    Daniel

    Good day
I don’t want an additional subscription to watch a match, especially if I can’t fast forward with this subscription.
I find it really weak that the sports subscription doesn’t have replay and rewinds.

    Please change Swisscom, thank you.

I also find this very confusing and very customer and friendly. If I have an expensive sports subscription, I should be able to watch there, no matter what kind of basic subscription I have…? I don’t usually watch TV.

    This coupling is absolutely pointless.

The app shows you buttons with highlights (goals, cards), but when you click on them you only get an error message.

Furthermore, it is not mentioned anywhere that you can’t even wind with a 50 franc per month subscription.

Then charge an extra 10 CHF per month and still not be able to wind the wind? That’s a bad joke.

    Weak as hell!

I’ve now spoken to a gentleman from support on the phone. According to him, this is a bug and replay and rewind should always work on the Blue Sport channels.

    They’ll get in touch again.

I thought that couldn’t be the case, 50 CHF and not even winding 😂

@Jagiemmach77 Well, support is now taking care of your problem.

Check whether all the channels you want to see via replay, including the blue Sport channels, have activated replay. You also have to tick these boxes for new channels that are added.

You can find this in the settings under Replay or Replay Sender, depending on the app.

    Hello Daniel

Unfortunately, the gentleman from support informed you incorrectly. Whether you can watch a channel in replay depends on the base package and whether it is replay-capable. Unfortunately, TV Air free has no replay. What is allowed is to watch the match in the timeshift window, i.e. near-live and a few hours +-.

The fact that the highlights function doesn’t work properly in the live case is definitely a bug on TV’s part. We will improve that. I’ll post the replay story internally…Because in principle it would be desirable to also offer replay on these channels. As of today, however, as mentioned above, this is not the case.

    Best regards

    Good day

Yesterday I tried to watch a Champions League game 15 minutes later from the start. Doesn’t work.

I also tried to watch a game from 6:00 p.m. and a game from yesterday.
On both dates I don’t have a button to start the game.

I think these functions should be possible for the monthly price of 35.-.

15 min watch the start of the game from the beginning

    This is an absolute no-go.
I pay the same amount for the sports package as everyone else, so I expect the same features on the pay channels included in this package.

While the match is running, I can actually “Watch from the beginning”. But since you can’t fast forward, you just see a blue screen for 20 minutes that says when the match starts and you just have to wait…?

    That’s sheer mockery!

If I were to rent a film, would I not be able to wind it because my base package can’t do that or what?

    Good evening,

The base package and the blue+ packages are two different products. As of today, the replay rights are not included in the sports subscription. Therefore, the base package is crucial as to whether you can watch a game in replay or not.

VOD rental is a completely different topic. Since we are talking about time-based use for a VOD content and not access to a broadcast channel which is tied to the replay rights, the two cases behave differently.

However, we are checking whether an exception can be made for blue Sport in the future.

I hope the explanation helps for now.

    Kind regards, Claudio

Perhaps the replay information on the Blue Sport website should also point out that the

Replay, recording and highlight functions not with blue TV Air free

      is possible.

The whole topic is currently misleadingly communicated, because if you use TV Air instead of TV Air free, which costs 10 CHF/month, you have 30 hours of replay, but you still can’t fast forward:

      https://www.blueplus.ch/de/blue-tv-air

Fast forwarding and rewinding is currently only part of a 7-day replay subscription, which legally also results from the new tariff GT12 and unfortunately Swisscom currently only offers this in combination with Swisscom Internet and blue TV subscription “at least level M”. .

Offering the 7-day replay including the winding options in a blue Internet-neutral TV Air version would only lead to small additional costs on the subscription cost side, but so far Swisscom product marketing has weighted “homeland protection” for the blue Internet connections and the provider-linked blue TV subscriptions are simply much stronger.

The whole discussion about GT12 makes sense for a normal free TV channel, as they are financed through the advertising that you skip with Replay TV.

But a pay-TV channel is financed through subscription fees and not through advertising.

You can even expect that there will be no advertising on these channels.

      @ClaudioMB

I’m glad this is being looked into and hopefully corrected as soon as possible.

Unfortunately, before taking out the subscription, I wasn’t aware that I was only subscribing to a light version at full price. It doesn’t say anywhere that you can’t rewind.

It only shows that you need a blue TV Air for replay. But it doesn’t say anywhere that you have to look at a blue screen for an eternity before the match starts.

God forbid you press the wrong button during playback, then you have to start all over again.

This reads like satire, but it is actually true.

The app even shows me a separate row “blue Sport Events in Replay”. When I select a match it says “Included in your subscription”.

Wonderful, but the play button is missing, so it’s not included in my subscription.

Also on the cell phone only in 576p (!) quality and that in 2023, but that will probably also be due to the basic offer, I assume (hopefully).

On the nVidia Shield I only get SD quality, while almost every other app there offers UHD without any problems, unbelievable.

All in all, Swisscom is clearly relying on its sports licenses and offering customers a technical standard from the last century.

Unfortunately, you have no alternative, otherwise no one would voluntarily remain in this technological Stone Age, especially since you have to fork out quite a bit of money to do so.

Unfortunately, I have taken out an annual subscription and now have to live with the fact that I obviously did not provide myself with enough information.

My hope for improvement during my term is not particularly high.

Finally, we can only hope that football rights will find their way to a sensible and customer-oriented provider in the future, but that probably won’t happen any time soon.

With the statement that the blue products, with restrictive usage regulations to the detriment of the customer, make too little distinction, whether it is the content of state or private TV channels, pay TV channels, purchased videos, or other additional ones Content goes, you are of course absolutely right.

An example of the unnecessary restriction on reception of channel content that has already been specifically compensated for by the Serafe fees is the general blue TV device restriction on the use of mobile devices within a blue TV subscription, which limits the maximum number to 5 even for the most expensive subscriptions with the particularly absurd Additionally, of the 5 devices already used, a maximum of 3 devices may be replaced within 90 days.

Imagine someone’s house is broken into and all 5 previously used blue TV-capable mobiles are stolen. Which 2 family members will no longer be allowed to play the Tagesschau from SRF 1 for the next 3 months due to a pure blue TV subscription restriction on their mobiles?

Hello, last night at the CL quarter-finals the highlight function stopped every time and I had to restart blue TV to watch the match. In November you talked about a “bug”, are you really serious that 5 months later this still hasn’t been solved? thanks for update!
