Hello Fiodampeus79

This happens in your Customer area (My Swisscom). Click on your Avatar located at the top right, a menu opens, then click on “Manage Login”. After opening this page, go to the right and open the “two-factor authentication” box, then turn it off.

Hello super user,

To follow up on your explanations, I followed the procedure you explain. On the other hand, my telephone number is not displayed in the “login modes” section. I therefore cannot delete it and I am still annoyed by the request for 2nd security (phone number required), which blocks access to my mailbox.

I would like to ONLY be able to access my mailbox with my login and my access code, I do not need any other protections.

Can you help me? Thanks in advance

if the advice from @Doremi does not solve the problem:

- it may be that the Swisscom login used is not the correct one and that several logins exist 🤔

- does the mobile number concerned appear on the 1st page of the Profile?

- check in the first box with First name Last name under Mobile number, is this correct?

- contact the Swisscom Hotline to check the Swisscom Login(s) and resolve this problem

Now yes. Papa Swisscom decided to force us to use 2FA, with no option. I just suffered it. So if you have an email inbox shared with the whole family, it’s fun to chase the only phone that receives the SMS, hoping that that family member is also home at the time.

In short, well done Swisscom! I can’t wait for artificial intelligence in management (and thank you again for writing to me from time to time in German!)

I just spent an hour on the phone (truthful) where I finally found myself forced to: (1) change my password (yay!) and 2) join the o2f, with no option to take this step, and with Swisscom staff on the line trying to help me by telling me that I had no choice.

Then the system asked me to send a copy of my ID, etc… (and, oh the process failed!). So I have to wait for a Letter. So, this evening to “process the login modes” (under “manage the login” as indicated above) I must first “enter the code appearing in the letter to activate 2-factor authentication for the number” (copied stuck at the moment).

Here I am, a Friday evening. You can imagine the lightning and thunder coming out of my mouth.

On the other hand, it is possible that the first time a new machine uses the login, validation by SMS will still be requested. I have been using this config for months and have no longer received an SMS code after the first use.

    It’s actually frustrating 😡

As a long-time customer, my account was certified well before 2FA existed at Swisscom. So I was able to activate it without additional manipulation, even if my mobile number for 2FA is not a Swisscom number.

Thank you in advance for feedback on the rest of the process.

When logging into bluewin, after giving the password, I sometimes have to give a code that my husband receives by SMS on his phone. I would like to deactivate this function because my husband is not always next to me.

        Hello Zutagio64

This happens in your husband’s Customer area (My Swisscom). Click on the Avatar located at the top right, a menu opens, then click on “Manage Login”. After opening this page, go to the right and open the “two-factor authentication” box, then uncheck the box and leave only “Two-factor authentication enabled only for protected domains.”

        So here is the feedback.

1.- While I was waiting for the letter with the code that I had been forced to request to activate 2FA (also forced to “opt” as explained before) the email login allowed me in the meantime to simply click on “ finish later” (see screenshot below) and, therefore, we had the whole family access to email, nothing more, in complete independence.

2.- Then, I received the letter; but I didn’t want to enter the code and activate 2FA. The code is now outdated.

3.- Today, when I login and the system asks me for the phone number for 2FA I have the option to simply click on “ignore” (as before) (see screenshot below).

So this is what we will continue to do so that each member of the family can access the email without having to chase the person who receives the code on their cell phone.

It’s not great, but it’s all Swisscom allows me to do (until the next crisis 🙄)

        THANKS!

        @Daderax Good evening

Serious error for not having validated your code. Once the two-step verification was done, it would have been simple to disable authentication in the customer area so that your family could read the emails without having to make additional requests, as explained in this thread.

So, I’ll try again once I have more confidence. After this episode and the telephone “help” received, this is unfortunately not the case for the moment.

        THANKS.

        a month later

        Good evening,

This is the 5th time that I have deactivated two-factor authentication and each time, after 2-3 webmail connections, the system blocks and I no longer have access to my emails. Each time, it requires me to enter my cell number and choose two-factor identification. When we read the explanations on the Swisscom website, we learn that sometimes this identification may be required and follows a whole series of reasons which are inconsistent for me. If I want access via webmail, it’s good that I read my emails on different computers, which do not belong to me. On my computer, my mailbox is configured and I don’t need to use webmail. I’m really fed up with having to: enter my mobile number in order to get a code, enter the code to gain access, deactivate two-factor authentication and have to start the process again 10 days later because it blocks again.
