Erreichbar bleiben in jedem Alter

Stay in touch at any age

Age is just a number and no reason to be afraid of the digital world. Whether for a video chat with the grandchildren or with an emergency watch for the elderly neighbour: we show you how to stay mobile and reachable.

1. Source a second-hand mobile phone

It does not have to be the latest smartphone. An older, functional smartphone in a drawer will be fine. Our Refreshed smartphones and mobile phones for the older generation are also a good choice.

2. Set up their mobile phone

To ensure that the phone is ready to use, you need a prepaid SIM or a mobile subscription. Digital subscription advice will also help you find the most suitable mobile phone subscription. If you need help setting up the apps and contacts, the Swisscom hotline for older customers can help on 0800 822 830.

3. Get to know the mobile phone

Lesson number 1 for using a mobile phone: receiving calls.

4. Connected in an emergency

Many smartphones already have a built-in emergency function: you can get help by rapidly pressing the lock key 5 times (iPhone) or rapidly pressing the on-off button 3 times (Android). A digital emergency device with emergency button or a smartwatch as a stylish alternative can provide even more peace of mind. Both are worn directly on the wrist and can alert the right people in an emergency.

Okay, not a really successful article, because age is really not a generally valid measure of mental fitness or IT affinity, but it helps if you as a customer activate all the relatively well-hidden opt-outs for marketing purposes in your Swisscom login , this then prohibits Swisscom from passing on customer data to third parties, used for pure marketing purposes, and in my opinion there is generally a little more peace and quiet from unexpected Swisscom emails, even if there is no real protection is “tight”.
