Actually the ONT has its own GPON serial number and should work with it. It doesn’t do anything except establish the access connection. The ALLIP registration for the services should actually be separate and must still be completed via www.swisscom.ch/start.

Unfortunately, I can’t check this myself due to a lack of Anschluss.

@Anonymous G: Can you ask your FTTH colleagues how exactly the ONT registration process works? In principle, it shouldn’t be a problem to set up an ONT for the Access connection.

@Zeufleimpu66 Thanks for asking, my question wasn’t that precise 🙂. I have an opnsense router (DEC840) and am looking for a no-frills XGS-PON 10gbit/s bridge..

There are actually two questions: 1) How can I spoof the Mac address with the Nokia XS-010X-Q bridge or do I do this in the settings of the opnsense router? 2) or more generally: what are the steps to put the Nokia XS-010X-Q bridge into operation (I have IB4 today) with opensense router?

@Zeufleimpu66 and @Bluto it’s me 🙂 No idea why the forum gave me a second username last time 😞

I wrote this quick guide (no responsibility, but it works for me) in English and translated it using deepl, so be forgiving if it’s not perfect German….
All of this information is a collection of information found in this and other forums. I take no responsibility for them.

In order for the Nokia Bridge to work, all you need to do is connect it to the fiber optic.
From an IP network perspective, it is completely transparent.
The “big” work lies in the OPNsense configuration

1. Copy the MAC address of IB4, shut down IB4.
2. Connect NOKIA to the fiber but not to the firewall and turn on the Nokia.
3. Wait for the OK status display

OPNSense:

4. On wan config, set IPv4 & IPv6 Configuration Type to ‘None’
5. Put the IB4 MAC in the ‘MAC address field’ -> save
6. Create a tagged VLAN 10 on the wan interface, priority 7
7. Assign an interface to the newly created VLAN
8. Configure the newly created interface:
8.1. IPv4 configuration type DHCP
8.2. Enter the MAC of IB4 in the “MAC Address” field.
8.3. Set configuration mode ‘Advanced’ log time 60,15,0,1
8.4. Configure ‘lease requirements, send options’: dhcp-class-identifier’100008,0001,OPNSense"
9. Shut down router
10. Connect the router to the Nokia
11. Turn on the router
12. You should now have a public IP on your vlan10 interface. You will need to reconfigure your gateway and probably your rules as well.
13. If you use IPTV, you also need to do some configuration (you can find these in other posts in this forum)

I have attached a few screenshots of the configuration, maybe they will help to understand some steps

good luck

Hi @Bluto - do you think it’d be feasible to stick the SFP module from the Zyxel directly into the OPNsense appliance (mine being DEC3840) and apply your settings?

@Bopuppio45 The telco SFP module is not compatible with the DEC Router SFP+ specs. I am not the tech expert but there is a lot of literature on this. Hence the need for a bridge. What works: I took the XGS-Bridge Nokia XS-010X-Q and followed the steps from @Bluto and within a few minutes you’re good to go. I connected the Nokia bridge (10GB RJ45) with a Ethernet cat 7 cable with a 10GB ETH RJ45 SFP in the DEC840 SFP+ slot. If you got the Swisscom TV box, pls follow the steps for IPTV in the tread as well.
