Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine special edition in place of Swisscom IB3/4

I plan to install a "Ubiquiti UniFi Dream Machine Special Edition" which includes a 10G SFP+ LAN port and an 8-port Switch. Is it possible to directly connect the 10G SFP+ connector of the optical fiber provided by Swisscom to the 10G SFP+ port of the Ubiquiti Dream Machine router, without using the Swisscom router (IB3/4 FTTH with 10G SFP+ port / this connector is standard )?

I also plan to connect a Wifi access point Ubiquiti U6-PRO to the UniFi Dream Machine in order to be able to create several Wifi networks in order to isolate connected objects, an IP-TV box, and the Swisscom TV-Box, from my NAS and my computer (for security reasons, according to the principle described in this article "[A high-end WIFI installation with Ubiquiti from UniFi](https://www.objetsconnectes.be/2020/04/15/unifi-ubiquiti-wifi-routeur-switch/#:~:text=L’aventure%20de%20ce%20point,rabot%C3%A9e %20ici%20%C3%A0%20122%20m%C3%A8tres “A high-end WIFI installation with Ubiquiti. UniF”)).

Does Swisscom allow you to do all this? 😉
Thanks for your help!

thanks for the contribution

The UDM Pro blocks traffic from its WAN interface to the internal LAN, this could prevent access to the UDM LAN from the IB network. This is also the purpose of a firewall. If this is not desired, configure the UDM accordingly, i.e. deactivate NAT and possibly also the firewall.

Hi,

Unless I’m mistaken, it’s not possible to simply replace the Swisscom box with the UDM.

Mainly because it does not manage an IGMP proxy necessary for IPTV.

If double NAT is not a problem for you (it is not for me), you can put the udm behind the swisscom box in dmz, and leave the tv and the landline telephone on the ib.

Your udm will manage your entire network and

The IB will simply manage the TV and the landline phone.

Good morning,

I would like to operate the TV Boxes behind my UniFi Dream Router.

This is not the PRO model, it is the model below:

https://eu.store.ui.com/products/dream-router

The goal being to do without the Box 3 internet because I have a lot of latency issues with…

I have Devialet speakers that pass through the LAN with a Roon Audio system and the Internet-Box really struggles when there are people connected to it. I changed all the network cables but nothing works.

Since I have the Dream Router everything is better and I no longer have problems with music but it tells me about latencies on the Swisscom modem side.

So I would like to do without the Internet Box but for that I would like the Swisscom TV Box to work on the Dream Router.

I have read several posts but they talk about a configuration with PRO models but not with models like I have…

Could anyone help me find a solution?

I thank you all in advance for processing my request and I wish you an excellent day.

Nicholas
