No internet despite DHCP option 60 & WAN IP & registration

  • Hey

    What am I doing wrong? Thanks for the help 🙂

    P.S: I also have Sunrise running, i.e. WAN configured without DHCP option 60 and Sunrise Internet runs perfectly and WAN IP is really a Sunrise IP.

    I have also tried all the variants from this forum with:

    • 100008.0001

    • 100008,0001, ZYXEL

    • 100008,0001,ZYXEL

    I know I don’t have FTTH but I still tried VLAN ID 10, of course it doesn’t work at all (no WAN IP), as an info… 🙂

    Everything works with Internet-Box 3.

    • @Fridiostei23 Kann ich dir nicht mehr sagen, da es jetzt funktioniert.

      Habe es mit dem second level support hinbekommen.

      Meine MAC hatten sie anschinend durch Registrierungsversuche bereits in der Datenbank hinterlegt gehabt. Der Herr hat dann noch ein “over provisioning” vorgenommen, danach ging es.

    @Fridiostei23

    As far as I know it is not possible to operate the Internet-Box 3 in bridge mode?

    Installationen, Netzwerk, Internet, Computertechnik, OS Windows, Apple und Linux.

    @Fridiostei23 try here: “‘100008,0001,xxx fw dhclient’”

    Attention " and’ are important. Since it is a G.Fast Anschluss, the Zyxel may not be accepted.

    Otherwise ask Studerus.

    DHCP 60 string (variable) in detail:

    Provider_ID,0001,Cisco,WAN_MAC_ADDR,FIRMWARE,FIRMWARE_VERSION,SERIAL

    There is apparently a problem with Swisscom’s registration system: [/t5/Router-Hardware/Wechsel-Internet-Box-2-auf-Internet-Box-3-no-Internet/m-p/619455#M30096](https://commu nity.swisscom.ch/t5/Router-Hardware/Wechsel-Internet-Box-2-auf-Internet-Box-3-kein-Internet/m-p/619455#M30096)

    Then I found the “workaround” that you could try:

    "

    A workaround, but it doesn’t always work:

    switch off the old router and then switch it on again. Wait until everything is online again. Then switch off the old router again and put the new router into operation.

    @WalterB

    Yes, exactly Bridge mode is unfortunately not available with IB3.

    Thanks for the input, I would like to avoid double NAT as much as possible. But if all else fails, definitely a solution/option. 🙂

    @user109

    I get a 100.86.81.xxx with DHCP option 60 100008,0001 today.

    If I remove DHCP option 60 then I get 89.217.148.xxx from Sunrise, everything works there.

    Then I’ll try to play around with the DHCP options and try out different parameters… 🙂

    What puzzles me is the statement that you can just start surfing at Sunrise without option 60. But I’m not a “Swisscom ready” specialist. So have you been to Sunrise before and your subscription is still running? The device is activated on the same Anschluss or Can operated?

    @millernet

    Hehe, exactly Sunrise subscription is still active… I thought maybe there would be problems with that, but it shouldn’t really matter. To be honest, I’m surprised too, I thought Sunrise had a different option 60. The WAN IP mentioned without option 60 is also assigned to Sunrise according to Google. And if I test via CNLAB, then I have 6 hops to Sunrise and 8 hops to Swisscom. With IB3 5 hops to Swisscom and 8 hops to Sunrise. That’s why I assume that without DHCP option 60 it’s simply Sunrise. 🙂

    @Fridiostei23 DHCP option 60 is also important to Sunrise. If your Anschluss has not yet been switched to Swisscom (which speaks against you getting an Internet Connect with the IB3). I think it’s still a BNG problem.

    @“x”#65426Yes, I can well imagine that it is a BNG problem. UPC also runs in parallel, but is a different line. But I don’t know if it ultimately runs to the same exchange, there you don’t need a DHCP option as far as I know…

    I have exactly the same problem, but with FTTH.

    After registering on swisscom.ch/access, no internet with a third-party router.

    Tried registering about 10 times.

    Internet Box 3 works without any problems.

    @manu77

    If you have configured everything correctly (VLAN ID 10 and the correct values in the DHCP option 60) and have a normal FTTH-Anschluss (i.e. not XGS-PON with 10 GBit), then it is the already known router registration problem.

    If so, you have 2 options:

    - Wait 1-2 weeks until the platform problem is probably definitely solved

    - Convince the first level support to connect you with the 2nd/3rd level support during office hours in order to manually enter your router in the registration database

    @Werner Thanks Werner for the input and suggestion. 👍

    Of course, it is also important that your configuration is correct, because this is usually the main problem with a third-party router and not the registration.

    Have you had this router before on Anschluss, or is it a first?

    @Werner

    I proceeded as described in the first post. e.g. with the exact same setup, simply without DHCP option 60, I’m on the Internet (Sunrise, which also surprises me), everything works. With DHCP option 60 (according to Swisscom Info [https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/hilfe/geraet/internet-router/ Fremdrouter.html](https://www.swisscom.ch/de/privatkunden/ hilfe/geraet/internet-router/ Fremdrouter.html)) I get to the Swisscom network until I register. So the router has never worked with Swisscom, premiere would be yes.

    The router also worked before with UPC. Is a UDM Pro. 😊

    @Werner Yes VLAN and DHCP 60 are entered correctly.

    In my opinion, xgs-pon has not yet been activated in our property; the normal 1.25gbit spf+ module was also included in the Internet box 3.

    I had already been in contact with support today, but I was quickly informed that Swisscom does not provide free support for third-party routers. Of course the whole thing wasn’t helpful…

    After trying for several hours, I’ll give it up now.

    Today was my first of 14 test days that I have with Swisscom to decide to change provider, but if it continues like this the decision will be easy.

    @Fridiostei23 I also have a UDM Pro but also unsuccessful with FTTH.
