That’s right, what is Swissom waiting for, a miracle… it’s a shame if it doesn’t come this year, then it won’t come again, it’s the same with 5G. Now it’s suddenly 5G for everyone in Switzerland by the end of 2021 - that’s right

Did you also tell the people at the link below because of 5G, which many people also want!

The licenses were bought for a lot of money, so it would have been up to the seller to prevent that.

In addition, there are always those who believe that Switzerland is an island and that the rays are higher here than anywhere else.

Incomprehensible, sorry

We live in a democracy and the seller of the licenses certainly cannot ban or prevent a petition.

What is not understandable about the political right?

Show original language (German)

That’s right, if 0.8% believe that’s the case, 99.2% will have to believe that until the motion is dropped.

I still have no understanding because Switzerland is not an island and 5G is coming one way or another

In no other surrounding country do citizens have as many political rights as in Switzerland. Seen this way, Switzerland is very much an island.

I manually activated Google RCS on my smartphone and on those of friends and family or gave a tip on how to do it. YouTube Channel from “Jimmy is Promo”: How To Install RCS Messaging - Works On Any Android & Any Carrier

I think it makes no sense to wait for Swisscom.

I hope as many people as possible activate Google RCS themselves and help their less tech-savvy friends until Google officially activates it in Switzerland. Everyone who is using Google’s sandbox servers will then be automatically migrated to the official version. At least that is the case in the USA.

With dual SIM devices, I was previously only able to activate RCS on one of the two SIMs. I hope that RCS will be possible on both SIMs in the future. Does anyone know if it’s worth getting my hopes up? 🙂

Edit: Does anyone know the Swisscom ACS URL and PCSCF?

Show original language (German)

Yes, that’s right, we too have given up hope for Swissocm, and not for the first time

We now all use Threema and are very satisfied. Anyone who would like to wait for Swisscom can do so,

but I don’t think it’s worth the wait, certainly not this year

@Rextado

RCS can only be used via the main SIM. It’s like SMS. It’s the same there too. I would also like it to work on both or all 3 devices with dual SIM. Unfortunately it does not work. Probably won’t change anytime soon, if at all.

I’ve been waiting for this RCS for a long time. Since the Swisscom ruling OK. It is being tested at Swisscom and was already planned last year. That’s why I hope again for the end of the year. Everyone has at least the SMS / MMS. On another note, Facebook has promised messaging compatibility between Facebook Messenger (which I use in addition to SMS and soon RCS because of Facebook) with WhatsApp next year. This reduces the problems of various systems.

That’s it for RCS in 2019. I’m happy to be proven wrong, but the Frozen Zone will begin shortly (or it has already begun internally). Let’s hope for 2020.

Messaging: Swisscom wants to introduce RCS by the end of the year

Published on Monday, April 15, 2019, at 11:06 a.m. by Stefan Rechsteiner

Swisscom wants to launch Rich Communications Suite, or “RCS” for short, this year. The technology is the “official successor” to SMS. The industry standard was developed by the GSM Association (GSMA) and introduced in 2012.

Can you still believe that, or was it just a big joke from Swisscom??????

Show original language (German)

It helps to read the article properly. The last section is about a completely different problem (attacks on SIM cards). No SIM cards from DACH were affected. But that has nothing to do with RCS.

RCS will certainly not have an easy time against WhatsApp & Co, that’s true! But imagine writing a message to someone and not having to worry about which messenger the recipient has, the message arrives! Just like with email, it doesn’t matter whether the addressee has Mutt, Thunderbird or Apple Mail, the email ends up in the inbox! I’m definitely excited to see what happens next with RCS.

Patience doesn’t seem to be your strong point. It was announced for the end of 2019 and now it’s January 3, 2020… With projects like this it can quickly happen that there are delays of a few months. “Only” problems have to arise in operation with the test users or with the device manufacturers and the end of 2019 will turn into spring or summer 2020.

P.S.

RCS is called Rich Communication Services, not Rich Communications Suite.

@Leiteintau76 I haven’t received a request like this yet. I’ve been using RCS for a while now thanks to the Activity Launcher. But it would still be great if it came really quickly for everyone. Has anyone else received a request like this?
