    • Neue Beta FW für R8.5 ist verfügbar. Die Diskussion geht hier weiter.

Thanks for the info and the link. I loaded the new firmware. At first glance everything works. Even telephony using the Internet Box app and VPN is now problem-free.

Is installed. So far no abnormalities.

A small detail that I was able to observe on January 8th, 2002:

On the “WLAN Diagnosis” page, the PacketTXFailure display is incorrect.
Once the value is reached 100, no further PacketTXFailure will be displayed.
    The value remains at 100.

    Hello everyone

    Hello MichelB

    I updated from 08.01.02/08.01.00/01110 to 08.01.06/08.01.00/01110.

The update was actually installed cleanly.

After the update and subsequent reboot, only the internet and telephony remained inactive and the “STATUS LED” flashed RED.

After a RESTART of the IB2, this problem was solved, the IB2 found the Internet and telephony again.

Greetings and have a nice weekend

BTW: The WiFi was active, which surprised me a bit…

    Hello everyone

I wanted to update the firmware on my IB-2. When I start the download the file is saved as ib2_beta_08-01-16.rui.txt. I work with a Mac with macOS Sierra and the latest Safari. This is the case on all Apple devices at home.

Does anyone know any advice? Renaming the file doesn’t work. The IB-2 then reports that the file must have the ending.rui or.acs.

    LG & thank you

    Rene

I know the problem, but with Win10 and Edge. The solution is to use the Firefox browser. I’m a little surprised that you’re having the same problem on a Mac…

Simply remove the ending.txt. A dialog box appears and you are asked whether you really want to delete.txt or whether you want to use.rui. After confirming that you want to use man.rui, it works.

Hello early risers @barnee and @kaetho

Thanks for your tips. Renaming doesn’t work for me. I’ve already tried it as written. Are you not using macOS Sierra yet?

I don’t want to install another browser because I want to keep my installations as simple as possible. So I’ll just wait for the automatic installation later. It’s not really that bad.

Interestingly, even after renaming it to.rui, the document is displayed as a “pure text document” in the file information. So my Mac “probably doesn’t care” which file extension is present.

I’m using the beta version of Sierra 10.0.2 and it worked fine for me. I removed.txt, confirmed that I wanted to keep.rui and then installed via the WebGUI.

That worked perfectly and now I have the 08.01.06 on it.

I just installed the new firmware.

So far everything works in the old version!
But the VPN phone call still doesn’t work for me.

Do I have to adjust or change anything to make this work again?

I can probably dial the number, but there is no ringing or buzzing tone and after a while (first it says “Dial”) it says “Call rejected” or simply nothing happens!

Sometimes you get the message “an error has occurred”!

It’s a shame this function still doesn’t work with the new software!

        Have a nice Sunday anyway!

        Hello Herby

I made the beta based on the message from tomcat (above). He writes that calling via VPN would work again!

Well, it’s not that bad and I’ll easily survive it!:smileyvery-happy:

Fortunately, since I started using the IB2, the speed has also increased. Now we just have to wait and see, maybe it will go back again.

That’s why I’m eagerly waiting for the bonding, because it would give me a little more speed than just 20 Mbit/s or currently 27.64 Mbit/s!

        Have a beautiful Sunday

        @“x”#143

I would be interested to hear your expectations regarding bonding.

I opened a new thread yesterday where your hopes might fit well:

@Quadro62 I just tried it again: turned on VPN, started app on iPhone, called woman on cell phone - works:smileywink:

@Tomcat Hello Tomcat, thanks for testing again. I tried this on iPhone and iPad, it doesn’t work on both. When I’m connected wirelessly, it works fine. With VPN it doesn’t work with both devices!

It’s time to wait and drink tea!:smileyhappy:

Thank you and have a nice day
