afaik the bonding pimps up the DSL speed by up to 20Mbit/s - depending on the load/availability of the LTE antenna….
There will probably also be a limit to where you can get a bonding kit. More likely the customers who only get around 10-20 Mbit/s. It doesn’t make sense to offer customers who already have 50 or more Mbit/s a bond - the LTE capacity is not unlimited either.
The fact that users with higher speeds have now received a bonding kit is probably only due to having as many test installations as possible to gain experience in order to get a handle on the technology. There are also some that have speeds of 50 or higher via DSL
….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼
Of course you are right.
As long as a scarce, non-reproducible resource has to be distributed, one can definitely argue that it should be allocated to those seeking help according to their level of need.
From a strategic point of view, however, the broadband market is not a rationed allocation to those in need, but ultimately a completely normal market with supply and demand, which also responds to all normal market criteria such as performance and price and, fortunately for Swisscom, also to service.
In my opinion, Swisscom now has the problem in the medium term that the “compulsory bundle offers” such as Vivo M, which are currently tolerated by ComCom and antitrust law, will occasionally come under strong fire.
Who wants to pay for 100mBit when the provider can only deliver 20 anyway.
As soon as it becomes possible to buy TV plus in combination with, for example, 20 mBit Internet, many Vivo M customers will no longer be able to sell the 100 mBit, which is not available anyway, due to technically inadequate access.
Of course, I understand that Swisscom wants to protect its income and that’s why I see the bonding for Swisscom as perhaps an additional option that, in my opinion, is available at short notice (if there is enough LTE capacity), but not with the price if the fixed network connection is still inadequate not to have to go down, but rather to adapt the delivered product to the service sold.
That’s why I wish Swisscom much success with the bonding.

Side note…
We here in Winterthur, who live in the city (bus stop is 1km away…) should actually ALL be connected to fiber optics, effectively 92% get fiber optics.
The rest is simply taxpayers and so even without fiber optics
Our data rate is 13MBit…
The LTE infrastructure (not ready according to the Boundling Team… or whatever) is exactly the technology that fits into such areas. The technology that can/could close the “gap” to the fiber optic.
This as a small note
Do other IB2 testers also have SmartLife at home? What are your experiences?
I’m not sure whether the IB2 or the Smartlife Box is causing the problems, as I suddenly had connection problems with the sensors again before the IB2.
A camera has suddenly been offline again for a few days and can no longer be integrated.
The Smartlife Box also no longer makes voice messages.
I reported it to the Smartlife hotline. Maybe interesting for GuidoT, a tester with Smartlife.
I’m talking about SamrtLife, not its predecessor Quing.

The Smartlife will certainly not be discontinued, it has only been on the market for a year.

@urmel_winti: do you live in one of the hamlets outside the actual city area (Seenhof, Kolbrunn, etc.)? I think there was a motion in the city council to connect this too.
And then of course there are the homeowners who don’t want to take part - but then there’s very little the city can do about it. I also looked at an apartment, every house around had fiber, but the builder said he didn’t need it. (The few houses in Härti in Wülflingen are probably also a case like this… they are not intended for expansion in any expansion plan).
@krypton, @Anonym,
You may have right Krypton. I made huge line test on my line with 8 different kind of CPE. DSLAM has maybe see a kind on list of power, interruption,…. Cause id seeing theses differences I performed huge tests (available here: https://dl.dropboxusercontent.com/u/41780/SCS_IB2_LINE_STABILITY_TEST.zip)
To perform the test correctly, and get a real overweight of the lIne stability, may I ask you GuidoT to ask internally to set the same Access Speed and Service Profile that was use on early September? This way we gonna see if it remains like this, and I was wrong, or it may downgrade both again due to new data dump / old DSLMA port. (for your I am on a old).
I have already asked someone from operations to analyze your access line.
I am very familiar with this motion.
I have already spoken to various politicians about this motion.
Since Winterthur is known as the “Greece of the Canton of Zurich”, I only believe in this when the infrastructure is also under external surveillance.
I am also sure that many communities have the same problem with the infrastructure. To provide money for this new infrastructure in order to expand and expand it and maintain it. In addition, there is the austerity obsession of the various parties (with the politicians’ neuroses about profiling) in parliaments… etc.
BTW: The homeowner is open to new technologies, so it doesn’t pose a problem.
The other residents in the village are also open to this new technology, which can be seen at the meetings and discussions.
I actually wanted to point out that, in my opinion, the Internet Booster Technology is the ideal addition to bridge this lack of speed in the infrastructure until it comes along or is available everywhere.
Thanks GuidoT for your note. Then I will leave the modem untouched from today and until next Friday.
Seams I am connected to a Ikanos 0.1
PS: sorry again for misspelling, auto-correction activated isn’t so efficient.
Hello community,
Do we already know when the new Internet Box 2 will be available to order for normal consumers?
I have been a Swisscom customer for 10 years and still have a Centro Grande with which I am having more and more problems. (Connection interruptions, no longer access to the Web Config portal). That’s why I’m hoping for improvement with a new router.
Best regards
M
Hi @MichelB
I wanted to inquire about the status of the address book in IB2.
From today’s perspective it’s not really usable. Will this be improved with the next FW?
For example, an entry was changed with Zermatt, then all contacts on Zermatt were deleted.
The mutated address is still present on IB2, delete it again, now OK.
Not all marked addresses (e.g. approx. 20) are established in the IB2 via the APP.
--> Several attempts are required for “Export Contacts”.
Once all the addresses in IB2 were gone, but not in Zermatt!!
A reboot of the IB2 brought the contacts back to light.
I have the feeling that something is still not correct with the DB.
I have already reported this via the form.
Depending on the traffic jams, I would test this again.
What a beautiful thing
Greetings Dani
