Doubly ugly… I ordered in France to be entitled to the free charger and the 25€ for applications on the store. Still haven’t received the smartphone and I probably won’t be able to qualify for the insider offer since shipping is planned after December 6… Played… lost… yes abo 365 too so no problem for me.

Have you checked that on your wife’s phone, mobile data is activated because SMS does not work over Wifi but only over 3G/4G and normally all mobiles are preconfigured.

If it really doesn’t work, you have to call Swisscom so they can activate MMS for you.

For MMS, there is a thing with Windows Phone. If you don’t have a DATA connection for your wife’s SIM, you may need to activate an option in the Windows Phone SIM or Message settings to allow MMS downloads.

My father had this problem on Windows Phone 8. Currently on my 950 I don’t see a similar option. Try to check in the SIM settings if you have active data and if you have the “Allow MMS download” option. There is an “update SIM data” button in the 950’s SIM card options. Perhaps it would help to do a manual update.

So for Mrs.'s cell phone it’s all good, she went to the swiscom shop in Vevey, and after waiting 30 minutes left. The person who takes care of registering the request for support was too busy being flirted with than working! Deplorable, it’s not the first time in this shop..

I called the hotline, apart from 2 minutes of waiting, correct, the case was resolved in 2-3 operations, good service from them. A few things were not activated on the sim card, could not have resolved without contacting Swisscom.

I’m getting used to this Windows 10, which pushed me to install this OS on the 925 and the 2 1020s, just waiting for my PC to be updated….

FYI Windos Insider has been available since yesterday for 950/XL owners. This gives you the option to upgrade to version 10586.29. Version which can only be better than the version delivered with the phone. What I don’t understand is that Win 10 was “officially” released with the launch of the 950 but you still have to go through beta updates… But hey… I haven’t done a lot of tests but There are still some persistent bugs like certain old apps (legacy from Win 8.1) which appear twice and do not work… Let’s see if the battery now holds a correct charge. I hope that we will have the right, before the holidays, to a definitive and 100% functional version (dreams are allowed…)

Oh yes I forgot, to obtain this 10586.29 you have to go through a hard reset of the device… Why? Good question… It seems that WIndows Insider is not 100% compatible with phones. 100% Win 10 compatible… So if you have ebanking apps… You have to redo everything…

On the other hand, yes problem to be entitled to this update. By going through a reset, we can get the update.

Since this reset I have 3-4 dual apps that no longer open… One with the correct icon and the other a blue square. When I try to launch with the correct icon, I end up on the store… I tried to uninstall these apps and it’s only possible from the storage tab but it only removes the correct app. other icon remains and returns to the store indicating that the app is installed… For the moment, I’m dry…

Well, the RTM doesn’t fix all the bugs… I have the idea that we haven’t finished updating our lumias…

Just received the update on one of the 2 lumia 950, the 2nd 950, the 1020 and 925 downloaded the update but error when starting installation.

So here we are for now on 5 lumias, 2 updated.

Another thing I just noticed. With my ebanking, I have an app that uses the camera to scan a color pictogram on the screen of my PC and since I have my 950 XL when I try to scan it, the camera has difficulty seeing it, the image is very white and you have to try it several times before you get it clearly. Never had any problems before with my 1520. Anyone else also having this problem? My settings are all on auto.

Just noticed that for focusing, the 950 is longer and has more misfire than my 1020 or even my 925.

Personally yesterday I had the update on my 950 everything ok, on my wife’s it blocked the phone. Had to reset it and now full of blank blue app icons that I can’t delete.

In addition, it returns to the home page without touching anything. Ex: want to choose a sound for SMS, open the pane to scroll through the sounds and without touching it 2 seconds later close the page. Hopefully an update will resolve these issues or this laptop will return to its box.

Once again we come back to the point of waiting for an update… It’s really disappointing to have a new “high-end” device just out of the box which is not completely functional… It’s like the guy who buys a Ferrari and who notices after driving 10 minutes that the 6th gear is not installed… Impossible right? Well in the world of electronics yes… The worst is that no one does anything, we all wait for updates as if it were normal for a device costing 700.- to come out buggy… But hey it absolutely had to be released before the holidays… Ah the marketing…

Well, I’ll stop there… We almost forget that a cell phone is used to make calls… I have the impression that Windows 10 beta worked better on my 1520 than “official” Windows 10 on my 950 XL…

I don’t want to discourage anyone because I am convinced of the potential of this operating system but I must say that if I had to advise the purchase of this mobile to someone who is not a geek, I would give up (for the moment ). I was all fired up when I bought it 2 weeks ago but now I realize that the latest version (10586.29) does not fix enough bugs to make this mobile accessible to ordinary mortals…

For me it’s the Crontosign app and it’s not a bug in the app but in the camera software.
