Hello everyone
I have also had this problem since January 6th, 2012.
I can’t access my emails via Outlook 2007 or Webmal (SC is aware of the problem).
For me, this is an untenable situation because I rely on email access.
What also makes me angry is that no SC employee comes out in this forum.
If the problem is not resolved immediately, I will consider changing provider!!!
I was now at peace with myself. Surprisingly, I’ve only had problems with one mailbox for about 2 to 3 days.
The other mailbox works without any problems.
Both mailboxes on the same Outlook 2010 client (as mentioned before, it worked smoothly again for both) and configured the same.
For me that means that the second mailbox is probably on another server where work is currently being done on it.
At least it is the second email that is affected, which is less important to me, so this bothers me less, but unfortunately my Outlook client is still affected, with timeouts, waiting signs (spinning circle, there is no hourglass anymore).
For me this means that the second mailbox is probably on another server where work is currently being done on it.
Yes, that can be the case, recently the problem has also been present with other email accounts, and someone here in the house is currently having problems with a specific Bluewin email account.
You can also try going directly to the email server to see if the same problems exist there.

Yup!
On the weblogin page it is also framed in red at the top that there is an email problem. 🙂
So when it comes to my problem, an explanation is available and confirmed, as I cannot access my second mailbox via webmail.

There may currently be delays in email traffic in individual cases. This results in transmission errors in email programs such as Microsoft Outlook. Webmail access is also affected. If you are affected, please try accessing the email again at a later date. The emails will not be lost; they will be delivered as usual after the problem has been resolved.
We apologize for the inconvenience. Swisscom
I use 3 computers, one running Windows XP, one running Windows 7 connected to the modem via cable and one running Windows Vista connected via WiFi. For a few days now I’ve been having ongoing problems with my e-mail program Thunderbird. On my computer with Windows 7, as soon as I switch on the program, the message “The connection to server h-schaefer@bluewin.ch has timed out” comes up and I keep losing it connection, after off or When I turn it on, I manage to establish a connection again. Resetting the server at Swisscom didn’t help. The message appears again and again and only on the computer with the operating system Windows 7, 64bit.
Does anyone have a solution.

Well, since I switched to IMAP, I’ve been struggling with connection problems again and again. It doesn’t work at all with an encrypted connection and it doesn’t work perfectly with an unencrypted connection either, even if I make the settings exactly as described and recommended (Mac users with OSX). They are apparently completely unable to get this under control and Swisscom doesn’t care at all, otherwise these problems wouldn’t have existed for years. I don’t want to badmouth everything about Swisscom, but the email thing is an absolute disaster for them. I had to realize that everyone who tells me that they are having problems receiving emails is a Swisscom customer. What a coincidence.
I just received an email from Swisscom today about the reported email problems.
You are aware of it and are working on it.
I currently only have problems with it very, very rarely (it actually works normally as it should) and if I do, then only about 2 to 3 times where a message appears. That’s why it doesn’t bother me so much anymore.
The only thing that surprises me a bit.
The email says about possible waves of spam that are arriving and here in the community there was talk of technical problems (hardware).
This is a bit confusing. Statement against statement, or one is missing information. 🙂

Hello AndresF
Well, if I knew how the private message works. Unfortunately I don’t know how, sorry.

After emailing (with Outlook 2010) worked perfectly for me for the last 3 days, today everything is catastrophic again. The hated IMAP error messages come every second. The Swissscom help with its suggestion to change the settings doesn’t do anything if I click on correct or don’t correct. Both don’t help. I also have a lot of trouble with webmail and I can only access my emails after several attempts. Hopefully everything will work a little better this evening.
