After emailing (with Outlook 2010) worked perfectly for me for the last 3 days, today everything is catastrophic again. The hated IMAP error messages come every second. The Swissscom help with its suggestion to change the settings doesn’t do anything if I click on correct or don’t correct. Both don’t help. I also have a lot of trouble with webmail and I can only access my emails after several attempts. Hopefully everything will work a little better this evening.

It’s been exactly the same for me since the beginning of February. It’s extremely annoying! IMAP / username/password wrong…. IMAP IMAP IMAP…. swisscom quick-help only helps with certainty… When does it stop????

Show original language (German)

In the last few days I have also noticed an increasing number of annoying messages about disconnections.

Today they showed up really obscenely often.

I now assume that the problem cannot be solved, but I wonder why other providers still manage to do this (e.g. 1&1 or hostfactory.ch).

Here are two tips to avoid getting sick with IMAP:

1. Uninstall Swisscom Quick Help.

2. If IMAP is annoying, try again later. An hour is usually enough.

If you follow the first tip, the two error messages (IMAP and Swisscom Quick Help) will not crash into each other. ONE error message is definitely enough.

IMAP is a good thing, but I gave up working with it a long time ago and use POP3 on all iMacs and PCs.

Yes Walter, I know POP3 too, but I no longer want to miss the advantages of IMAP. I can very well imagine that Swisscom is working flat out on this problem and will certainly come across the right solution at some point. I am always fascinated by tasks that cannot be solved immediately and that challenge you anew every day. Of course over days, weeks or months. Getting up in the morning is a real joy and you can look forward to the work waiting in the office. Nothing is more boring than routine with the same tasks over and over again. At least for me this is true and I work around IMAP with time, patience and humility…

@all,

Since I migrated to the new mail server platform. I no longer have any IMAP problems at all. If necessary, contact the hotline with a request for prioritized migration of the affected email addresses - or perhaps better: [PM](https://community.swisscom.ch/t5/Diskussionen-zu-Swisscom/IMAP-Probleme-bei-Bluewin/ m-p/78565#M9694) to AndresF here in the forum with the same request.

Greetings, o.s.t.

The problem is that it didn’t always work properly in administration with IMAP and you can’t afford failures there, now we just live with POP3 in conjunction with MS Outlook 2007-10.

Luckily we have additional email accounts with the hoster on the homepage and it works there with practically no problems.

I received priority treatment from AndresF. Migration is history and yet unfortunately it doesn’t happen every now and then, what do you want? Exactly 5 minutes ago these fine and great reports again.

It’s also strange that my third Bluewin email account is causing the most problems, but POP3 couldn’t be reached a few minutes ago, all other accounts are working.

Whenever there are problems with this email server, it doesn’t take long before reports come here in the community.

Now it’s working again, but something is wrong with this server.

I’m no longer the youngest PC user. But I still remember my childhood and Easter very well. Nothing was more joy and fun than SEARCHING. Finding something straight away wasn’t the norm and wasn’t exciting either. At some point everyone will find what they are looking for.

Everything seems okay for 2 days. Not a single error message anymore. The problem must obviously be complex and only arise from time to time. Maybe it will definitely work this time, who knows? It would definitely be great and worth a few kudos to Swisscom.

Good evening.

I have a customer who reports the same 143 IMAP error to me. I entered the error into Google and ended up here in the Swisscom forum.

So the error is not fixed. I just tried to access my customer’s bluewin account and the error has been occurring very regularly for hours. Above all, he complains that this has been happening to him a lot for days, weeks and months.

Is there nothing I can do about this other than switching to POP?

I would be happy to receive an answer directly from Swisscom. It’s quite difficult for me to be asked by customers about problems and then give the answer that Swisscom is to blame. It sounds like I have no idea and would like to pass the problem on. Please provide an official statement. I have set up other IMAP accounts on my PC that run through Webland.ch hosting, and they always work perfectly.

Thank you very much and have a nice evening

However, at the moment there are general email server problems and so it will be difficult to determine an error.

6 months later

In Outlook 2007 I get the imap error code 0×800ccccdd on port 143

All settings according to Bluewin Help instructions.

What is the solution?

Thanks

Show original language (German)

Please excuse my renewed request. I live in Thailand and tried to complete the Swisscom settings (profile), but this is not possible due to my location (outside Switzerland). It could be that the IMAP doesn’t work because of this, but it should - no matter where I am.

I am more than receptive to a solution. In Switzerland I have problems with foreign countries, when I’m abroad I have problems with foreign countries… but the problems are always generated in Switzerland.

Am I really forced to use a foreign provider (with international services). I think it is time for Swiss companies to think globally and operate locally, with an international flair.

Thank you for the support.

Kind regards

IMAP reception should work, sending most likely won’t work. There are reasons for that too. (Preventing SPAM from being sent via third-party providers). By the way, this has nothing to do with Swisscom; it is the same with other providers.

To receive via port 143, set the server timeout to a higher time in the incoming server settings.

Actually, using webmail is THE solution abroad.

Greetings, o.s.t.

Hello o.s.t.

After I tried your recommendation (as well as all the others unfortunately without the desired success) I switched to POP. The IMAP works perfectly via NETZONE, but I wanted to cancel NETZONE and only use the Bluewin account because I never really used my HP i-dot.org anyway (I’m just too lazy).

I want a solution that is as provider independent as possible… but not my own mail server… smile… Doesn’t work… big SMile.

What mail program would you recommend? Icredimail or…? Thanks for any reply.

Are you THE o.s.t.?

Regards, MusV
