It should be noted that we can standardize the sound between the channels.

Simply set the Sound setting Auto volume: to YES (SONY TV)

For other TVs I think this is also possible.

Hello JP

Did you read YariB’s answer?

For me, even if there is some difference in sound (volume) between the SD and HD channels, the TSR is of very good quality. No difference in sound quality between TSR and TF1.

I think these issues may vary by region,
And the sensitivity of our ears, more or less good.
We are also more or less demanding.
I am simply giving my specialist opinion.

For me the sound and image quality on the channels that Swisscom downgrades the HD signal to SD (without offering the channel in HD quality) is a real disaster

The following channels are affected: Boomerang, Boing, RFM TV, Extreme Sports, Comédie+, Infosport+, Tiji, MCM Top and to a lesser extent Mangas

Good morning,

New customer Swisscom TV 2.0 for three days, like you I notice some imperfections in the sound. Compared to cable reception (without box) from UPC clablecom, the sound is really very weak for certain channels, despite having set the volume of my Swisscom tv box to the maximum.

Hello LSNomade,

If it’s on RFM TV, MCM Top, Extreme Sports, Boing F, Boomerang F, D17, Tiji, Comédie+, Infosport+ you can’t do anything about it because it’s Swisscom which takes the HD signal to transform it into in-house SD. which has an impact on the sound but also the quality of the image (compared to the basic SD signal)

Thank you for your answers,

Indeed it is mainly on the channels RFM TV, MCM Top, Extreme Sports, Boing F, Boomerang F, D17, Tiji, Comédie+, Infosport+. Personally, the sound volume on RTS 1 and 2 is not as good as via the UPC cable network, at least that’s my opinion. In short, it’s not a big deal, I’ll put the volume on my TV louder 😉

Show original language (French)

Indeed it is due to the downgrade of the HD signal to Swisscom’s in-house SD

But according to Teleclub these channels should be broadcast in HD with news on June 1st 😉

Thank you for your various responses.

For my part at the time, I called swisscom to report this disturbance. The operator was able to tell me which channel I was watching and promised to intervene. For some channels this worked well but for some there were still differences in volume.

Good evening, I would like to know why the sound of bluewin TV 2 is so bad, mainly on the TSR. If the sound of French channels is somewhat better, it is still far from what one might expect, especially when it only involves transmitting a digital signal as it is supplied. On a technical level, it’s relatively simple, especially when the TSR for example claims to provide HD and digital sound, which I don’t find on my well-made home cinema anyway. This makes me seriously hesitate to buy the new box, because if it’s to have a very good picture with terrible sound, it’s not worth it. Now, no need to contact me to ask me to reset the internet terminal and the box, which has been done several times and which changes absolutely nothing. I add that I am passionate about sound recording (mainly analog) and therefore, I know what I am talking about. Now, if a tip - adjustment or any other operation that I have not detected could improve the situation, I am interested, even if I have already tried quite a bit to improve things without success.

See you soon / Eagle

Hello everyone,

I sometimes watch the eurosport channels, but the volume level is always super low compared to the other channels, you have to turn up the sound every time when you go to europort 1 and 2. They don’t even in HD… long live swisscom…

Swisscom never resolved the problem, it is unacceptable (for a change…) especially when we see all the messages on this subject over the months. It’s not complicated to take an average of the sound levels of each channel and see that there are quite a few differences.

NO, auto volume on the TV is not a solution, I don’t want a compressor. It is up to Swisscom to adjust the dynamics upstream.

For some time now, I have noticed quite different sound levels between the channels. Each time you have to use the remote control while zapping, to even out the sound a little.

I’m not talking about advertisements whose sound is deliberately boosted, but about programs in general.

Person??

Am I the only one??

The sound on TMC (daily) is very weak compared to TSR or M6 and other channels. You have to use the remote control every time… very annoying and nothing has been done for months…

Same problem here, and adjusting the TV setting is not a solution. The problem is on the Swisscom side, what are they waiting for to unify the sound levels?

Show original language (French)

@kd2000 Good evening

This problem does not come directly from Swisscom, it is each TV station which broadcasts its own sound volume. This problem, as you say, is also found among certain cable operators.

Wait, don’t tell me that Swisscom doesn’t have the equivalent of a digital mixing desk for the signals transmitted in its network. It’s Swisscom who compresses the video stream, it’s Swisscom who has total control over how the signal is transformed for their network The level has always been different on the MTV pack, they can adjust that but still need to let them move.

@kd2000

Because, do you think they have a mixer for 400 channels and more? even with a PC format mixer!

In addition, I have the same phenomenon on my Cable operator as Swisscom.
