Hello Lissamay59
Possibly You have been switched to the new webmail. Click on gear and then it has three layouts to choose from:
Hello @Grigioba21
So we don’t do anything, we are customers like you.
You are welcome to complain to Swisscom, you can find the contact options => here
But the chances of Swisscom reversing this are very, very small.
P.s. Yes, the new webmail has its pitfalls at the beginning. But it also offers some advantages.
But if you value convenience, use a mail client like Thunderbird.
Bluewin webmail is not mandatory, just use the individually customizable free email program Thunderbird:

Don’t complain, just act 🙂

Hello @Grigioba21
The layout can be set almost as it was before using the settings.
You can choose a different layout for the email list:
Click on the gear menu at the top right and select the desired layout.
The multi-line email preview can also be switched off:
Gear Menu -> All Settings -> Mail -> Read -> _Email List Item -> Show Text Preview _ -> deactivate (uncheck)
Even more can be set in these menus, just try it out, you can’t really go wrong.
Many functions can be accessed using the right mouse button and are self-explanatory. Help is also available in the web interface:
Question Mark -> Help or Introductory Tour.
Many functions can be accessed via the right mouse button and are self-explanatory. Help can also be accessed in the web interface via? (Question mark) - Help or introductory tour.
My experiences have almost always been very positive. For example, a much-requested “Allow/block” function for email addresses or domains is now a reality.
Some things aren’t entirely obvious, but after a bit of searching and trying, you’ll find that too. There’s a bit of a problem in one or two places, but that will certainly be fixed. The interface responds very quickly, only switching between different mailboxes takes longer than before.
Just “play” with the many options and the training won’t be so bad. Or ask here again.

Basically, it has to be said that the old webmail looked the same as it did 20 years ago! A facelift is long overdue. It is also clear that not everyone always likes it. Unfortunately there’s nothing you can do about it, it’s just the way it is. Humans are also creatures of habit.
The alternatives have already been mentioned. Now is the time if you don’t like using an email program. It’s so simple, but you just have to do it yourself. Nothing happens as a result of “constant complaining”.
I’m not happy with the new interface either. Although everything looks modern, it also requires more space. In my opinion, the old version was more compact and clearer. I am aware of the setting options, but they do not solve the problem. Of course some of the new features are great, it’s all about the interface for me.
I use a normal email program myself, but many people probably don’t want to install a local email program. I also have a situation where I can only use the online version. If you make a new version of a tool, it would be nice if the usability and clarity either improved, or at least retained the usual status.
Honestly, just because the new implementation of the GUI is worse than the old GUI, it makes no sense to point out that you should install an email program. Then you should simply improve the new GUI in this regard.
In any case, I would really appreciate it if you go back to the old surface or at least adapt the new one to the quality of the old surface.
- Fresher design and more user-friendly operation - fresher design yes, more user-friendly operation unfortunately no.
Hello @Hafiethie82
Did you make the settings as follows?
The layout can be set almost as it was before using the settings.
You can choose a different layout for the email list:
Click on the gear menu at the top right and select the desired layout.
List is closest to what it looks like so far.
The multi-line email preview can also be switched off:
Gear Menu -> All Settings -> Mail -> Read -> Email List Item -> Show Text Preview -> deactivate (check off)

Hello GuidoL
Thank you for your input and your effort to explain everything clearly. I had already set everything up like in the screenshot:
Unfortunately, it is also the case in our company at the moment that we want to make the software as modern as possible when updating it, but unfortunately this is often a disadvantage for usability. In some cases, entire functions were removed without consultation, without which we cannot work in production. So it’s not just Bluewin that’s going wrong.
Hello @Hafiethie82
Basically, I welcome the innovations. But I also agree with you on some of the innovations. I don’t like this one-click operation and one-letter short cuts either. Previously, clicking once meant marking, double-clicking meant executing. Now these functions are blurred and that’s annoying.
In addition, more space is wasted for appearance and not all menus can be recognized as such.
We’ll probably have to live with that. I’ve been using an email program for a long time, but that too is changing, even faster than Bluewin Webmail.

The whole thing is far too slow for a new website.
Switching from one email account to another takes almost an eternity.
I feel like I’ve been transported back to the early years of the Internet with the 2400 baud modem on the telephone line.
I work with a mail client and don’t need webmail active. These were just my impressions until I looked at the whole thing and set up the address books.
A side question:
If you work with mail clients anyway, why do you even need address books within Bluewin webmail?
Do you synchronize this with an address book within the mail clients and does it currently work for you in connection with the new Bluewin mail platform?
Hobby-Nerd ohne wirtschaftliche Abhängigkeiten zur Swisscom
no, I do not synchronize the addresses with another address book.
I have a few master addresses in webmail for “emergencies”.
Before the change, I exported these contacts as a csv file and have now read them into the respective accounts.
Since the new webmail is already online, I wanted to see how it works now and not just when I need it.
I had email with a mail client before webmail was even invented. So it’s not a change or adjustment for me.
