iPhone 13: Prepare order

Dear Apple fans among you

Now it’s out: Last night Apple introduced the new iPhone 13, iPhone 13 mini, iPhone 13 Pro and iPhone 13 Pro Max.

The new iPhones of the 13 series are similar in design and format to its predecessors - except for small adjustments such as the smaller notch and the diagonal arranged camera sensors on the iPhone 13 and 13 mini. The Pro models score points with a new macro mode on the ultra-wide-angle camera, which also makes macro videos possible. Also new are the portrait video and cinematic modes, with which even better videos can be recorded and edited directly.

From 17. September 2021, 2 p.m. you can pre-order the new iPhone 13 models. The models will be available in the Swisscom Shop and online from September 24, 2021.

You can read how to prepare your order by then in the Swisscom help area. There you will also find the link to pre-order from September 17th.

What do you think about the new iPhones? Which model do you like best and why? We look forward to your discussions!

Best regards

I’m going to upgrade from iPhone 11. I still get 280 when trading in, or even more on the open market. I have to figure it out by Friday.

I don’t know yet whether it’s the iPhone 13 or the iPhone 13 pro. I’ve only missed the “telephoto lens” every now and then. Otherwise the normal version is enough for me. Especially since the CPU is always the same.

As an upgrade, I’m also looking forward to testing 5G. Let’s see what it’s like. If it’s excellent, I’ll definitely make the most of it 🤣

Of course I will order it directly from Apple on Friday.

I’ll probably switch from a normal Pro back to a Pro Max because I missed the longer battery life a little.

I also think dual E-SIM is great.

@Tux0ne I always compare with sell.ch or revendo.ch. I’ve had very good experiences with it.

Thank you both. I think I’ll sell the device to one of the two. That’s over 400CHF compared to the 280CHF that Apple wants to give.

Crazy actually. The device is 2 years old. Of course it still works, looks good and runs perfectly.

This means that half or a third of the new device has already been financed again 👍

I am once again extremely disappointed with Apple. You make a few homeopathic improvements, tout it as the best iPhone ever, and the stupid consumers jump on it and don’t realize they’re being sold by Apple.

Real innovations are missing this time too.

The notch is now an imposition, there is no fingerprint scanner and a non-proprietary USB-C Anschluss is still missing.

Sorry, without me, I’ll stick with my two iPhone SEs, the SE2 for daily use and the SE1 as a cockpit on my bike.

And if Apple fixes the three long overdue defects or Features don’t fix with the iPhone 14, so I’ll say goodbye to Apple.

I always hear…

ToucheID?

Why exactly?

FaceID is so awesome. And even safer IMO.

With Wacht together even with a mask!

Otherwise I know my 6-digit code.

My 12 Pro will be a 13 Pro, possibly with more memory and someone will be happy to inherit my 12 Pro.

Even without a mask, Touch ID is more practical and faster:

The device is already unlocked when you just pull it out of your trouser or jacket pocket, without having to stare at the device first. Or the device is lying next to you on the table and you want to quickly unlock it; Touch ID is also more practical and faster.

Counter question, I always hear Face ID, why exactly?

A watch with a screen doesn’t fit on my wrist, only one with an analog display that either doesn’t require a battery or works autonomously for 2-3 years with a battery. In addition, it is unreasonable for Apple to force users to buy an Apple Watch just to be able to conveniently unlock the phone.

And as far as the code is concerned: For security reasons, I set the display lock to 1 minute, so I would have to constantly re-enter the code.

I also know a few people who wanted to buy an iPhone 12 and then decided on an SE because of the Touch ID.

I will pre-order an iPhone again after years. I’m thinking about the pro.

My last iPhone was the 6th at the time. It was a struggle until I got it…. I was from another provider at the time, had pre-ordered it in a shop and I was in the period when it should have been delivered USA… My father had kept me informed, but it just didn’t come. When we returned straight to the shop in the morning… there were suddenly address problems and they said acceptance had been refused… It’s just unfortunate that no one ever rang the doorbell. Suddenly it came out that instead of Switzerland it was Syria. The order had to be re-recorded and so I waited again until February of the next year… I hope I’m spared the trauma.

Another question: is there at least one charging cable included in the scope of delivery? I would have enough power adapter (including usb c) lying around…

It’s best to order directly from the Apple Shop Switzerland, where the entire delivery route is made available online when you order.
