Hello Schlabi

I did the check.
Found and started the SKY app on the TV.

Started a game from yesterday Everton vs Liverpool as a Replay

(was as UHD).
However, after starting, no choice between UHD and HD is displayed.

The game is then shown in HD.

It is possible that a replay game can no longer be viewed as UHD!

I then started the Sky app from Swisscom TV Box and there I could see the selection again between UHD or. HD????

However, the picture was still very poor and jerky. (in UHD)

I have an internet speed of 100 Mbps

Exactly the same problem for me. Exactly as you described. It doesn’t matter whether it’s the Bundesliga or the Premier League. I’m excited to see what Formula 1 looks like in 1.5 weeks…

So I’m happy for every tip! 😊

When I watch the Sky app directly on the Samsung TV, I can’t choose between UHD and HD when I select the game?! Here I can only choose between Full HD, HD+, HD and SD in the game itself. However, this function is missing on Swisscom TV… I also have PS4, so I’ll try again there.

Hello everyone

We have informed Sky Switzerland that there are quality problems with micro freezes with UHD content from Sky in the Sky app.

You can reproduce it and see the issue too.

But I can’t say when a fix will come.

But keep yourself updated.

Greetings

Hello, I have had the same problem since the restart of BL after the Corona crisis. Everything was perfect before. BL, PL, now also F1. Sky initially denied everything (app not up to date, my TV, my cabling, etc.).
Had to have all technical Deliver details. Also: UHD on TC works perfectly.
Only recently did the succinct answer come that they knew about the problem and were working on it with Swisscom. That was 2 weeks ago and nothing has changed so far. I find it very unsatisfactory. It can’t be that difficult, before Corona and with TC it works.

Does anyone know more?

Before Corona time, UHD ran perfectly on the Sky app via swisscom tv… unfortunately it still hasn’t been fixed, I hope it works again in the new season…

Hello everyone

It’s been around 2 months and SKY’s problems have still not been resolved.
The Bundesliga has started and the UHD broadcasts are still bad.
As already reported, the UHD broadcasts from TC Sport are very good.

It shouldn’t be such a problem to solve this!

Hello @lubeme

Sky has delivered a new version of their app where Sky has made improvements.

We distributed this new app version to all customers before the start of the new football season.

What exactly do you think is not okay at the moment?

Please also note that sky broadcasts in UHD resolution with SDR and Teleclub broadcasts UHD football with HDR-HLG 😉
So the statement that the picture at TC Fussball in UHD HDR-HLG is better than Sky UHD SDR is also correct.

If your TV really can do UHD HDR-HLG.

I have the same problem, the UHD broadcasts via SkyApp have been insufficient for about half a month. Unusable…Image ok but not flowing….

All other UHD channels TC work great.

Hello,

I assume that @lubeme will answer similarly.

I installed the new app, but it didn’t bring any improvement. Whether you want to watch F1 or football in UHD, when you select UHD/HD the message still appears in red that 25MB is required for UHD (which a) is the case for me and b) the message did not appear, when UHD still worked). If you then start UHD anyway, the picture is sharper than with HD, but the picture doesn’t “flow” like in HD, but it always “jerks” slightly. You can’t really relax and watch F1 or football; after a few minutes your eyes hurt. If you then switch to HD, you can see a striking difference. So the problem with UHD still exists (at least for me), the new version of the app didn’t help.

Hello everyone

Thanks for the feedback.

I would be happy to forward this to Sky too…

And hope for an improvement in the stuttering in the UHD streams soon.

I would also like to say something about Sky. I’ve been having problems for a long time, but it’s not really because of the picture. The problem for me is that when I watch on UHD, the Sky app keeps kicking me out and then I always have to restart it, which is not the case with HD happens.this is not acceptable given the duration.

Thanks

Hello UrsSch

I own 2 brand new Panasonic TVs

Panasonic TX-43HXW944 and TX-55GZC2004

Since the former Teleclub (now blue Sport) games are good in UHD, it can’t be the TV’s fault. Other users also have the same problem!

Is it possibly due to my 2 TV boxes UHD version and not the latest 2019?

SKY app was updated about 1 week ago

Hello @lubeme

I suspect it’s something to do with the Sky app itself…

The Swisscom boxes can all play UHD with and without HDR.

Sky is already informed…

but I don’t have any feedback yet.

Hello @Haesy0070

Please also give your feedback to SKY.ch.

The error that causes the app to stutter with UHD content is due to the sky app itself.

We have already reported this…
The more customer feedback you receive, the greater the chance that a fix will come from Sky.

We are now almost in November and unfortunately nothing has changed in the quality of the UHD transmission in the Sky app via Swisscom TV Box. Strangely enough, the UHD stream works perfectly with the new TV box and not with the old one.
That really can’t be the case. So it must be a Swisscom problem? Thank you very much for further clarifications.
