Hi
Unfortunately I have to go back to the normal firmware at the weekend. The box restarted itself repeatedly. What was particularly bad for the WAF was that at times all sites were blocked by the parental protection function… even though this function was clearly switched off on the router.
However, yesterday I had another complete failure, there was no display on the box display, the buttons at the front didn’t work…restarting via the switch at the back helped.

I have been spared from the total failures so far and the firmware doesn’t work badly so far, only yesterday morning the internet was down for 5 minutes at 2:15 a.m., which was noticeable when
SmartLive protocol, probably by laying new lines nearby.
That’s the crazy thing about the whole thing, that it works for most people and yet there are occasional problems.

The issue with parental controls may not have been added in the beta. As soon as I had the IBS [with the current firmware and not the beta], I suddenly no longer had access to the Internet because of child protection, even though this function was not activated. Turning this function on and then turning it off again didn’t help either. Only a reset to factory settings helped.

After a long time with the IB-plus beta, the Internet and IP telephone functions were once again lost.
After about 5 minutes the internet is back and a little later IP-Tel shows normal again.
I intentionally didn’t reboot or turn it off, the box came back automatically with the Internet. Observing the box leads me to conclude that the box did not reboot itself, because the LED always remained white. But only Swisscom can give an exact picture with the log of what the box did.
Isn’t an exact log visible to the user on the box?
The box restarted itself 20 minutes ago. Since this restart I can no longer access the box with the IP 192.168.1.1. I tried http://internetbox/#login and lo and behold the login goes here.
I don’t know why the box starts itself from time to time, I haven’t changed anything on the network or the box. And why I can no longer access the box with the IP is also strange.
For now, thanks for the static IPv4 routes, I finally have to tinker less!
Unfortunately, I already had the dropped calls with the Fritzbox (like Henry_IV, Beta and Release)
In addition, it would be really practical to be able to see certain logs, because I also have the case that the box simply reboots (a stroke of luck) or freezes (very annoying, especially when you’re on the go) every now and then.
I noticed that there is a problem with static IP with the IB Plus and the new UHD box.
As soon as the UHD box logs in and gets an IP, it is assigned a fixed IP address.
This can be changed manually and you can also save the whole thing without errors, but then the UHD box is automatically assigned the previous address as a fixed IP.
This is just for information.
I am also of the opinion, like cybi, that it has always been this way and, for whatever reasons, it is consciously this way.
By the way, it is not a static/fixed address in the usual sense, but the address is also assigned by the box’s DHCP server, but always the same IP address based on the unique MAC address of the TV-Box.
