Here is my first impression of the 950, pleasant to handle, just getting used to the new parameter management. Huge screen compared to the 1020 which is tiny.

Photo in dark places much better than the 1020, more accurate color rendering. More fluid, (a little too sensitive, unless it has a problem).

But one point, for the moment, which I find a shame, larger battery than the 1020, but after full charge announces a duration of use of 1 day and 15 hours compared to 2 days 18 hours for the old one with 2000 mAh of battery.

And Microsoft does not consider accessories a priority.

For my part impeccable. Better autonomy than the 930 with equivalent configuration, but with the “Glance” activated, as well as the iris scanner (Windows Hello).

Top use, lighter and seems less bulky than the 930 (feeling in my pocket). A little cheaper than the 930 but I think the custom cases will correct that. Really stunning screen and the camera is better on a lot of points, and particularly better in low light. Windows 10 version 10586.0 seems slower than 10586.11 (on my Lumia 930 insider). A few things still escape me but it should settle down shortly.

I am also very happy with my XL DS white. Does anyone have an idea of ​​the possible availability date of Norêve cases for this magnificent technological tool?

@XE 10586.17 is intended for insiders. The 950/950XL are not yet compatible with the insider program.
On the other hand, like you, I have the feeling that the build on the 950 is not at the same level as the latest insider builds. I hope to have the latest release soon.

Have you checked that on your wife’s phone, mobile data is activated because SMS does not work over Wifi but only over 3G/4G and normally all mobiles are preconfigured.

If it really doesn’t work, you have to call Swisscom so they can activate MMS for you.

For MMS, there is a thing with Windows Phone. If you don’t have a DATA connection for your wife’s SIM, you may need to activate an option in the Windows Phone SIM or Message settings to allow MMS downloads.

My father had this problem on Windows Phone 8. Currently on my 950 I don’t see a similar option. Try to check in the SIM settings if you have active data and if you have the “Allow MMS download” option. There is an “update SIM data” button in the 950’s SIM card options. Perhaps it would help to do a manual update.
