Same here…

In principle, almost all current devices have been able to use WiFi calling and VoLTE for a long time, including the Lumia 930. But here too, Swisscom or Microsoft publishes a carrier entitlement with the appropriate settings, without this it doesn’t work. This will probably last for a few more weeks.

I automatically received an update for the Galaxy S6 this morning. Now the option for WiFi calling is available!
My device is branded by Swisscom.

Yes, I’m moderately enthusiastic. I had the problem several times that the conversation was choppy. Once I couldn’t hear someone anymore but he could still hear me.
At the moment it doesn’t seem very mature, unfortunately.

I have only tested VoLTE so far. Don’t know if wifi calling is better. But I find it pretty funny that it’s blocked abroad. That would be THE user case. With Swisscom IQ you have to pay despite having an Infinity subscription, I can’t understand it.

I’ve done the software update and everything is activated, but I haven’t received an SMS from Swisscom yet. Thought it would be activated after the update and settings?

If I want to call a Swiss number from abroad using Swisscom IQ, for example, I first have to buy “IQ.Out” packages. As an Infinity customer, I can’t just make calls to Switzerland via WLAN and Swisscom IQ. The prices are also so high that I prefer to make calls abroad (including to Switzerland) via a cheap VOIP provider.

1. The thing is called IO, not IQ

  1. For Swisscom customers with Natel® Infinity (plus), the Switzerland flat rate is already included in the subscription.

I have a Samsung Galaxy S5 with an Infinity subscription, WiFi calling activated in the settings, but I haven’t received any text messages yet. Does this currently only work on the S6? When it was introduced it was said that it only works for the S5 at the moment…?:smileyindifferent:

I also have VoLTE since the update on the S6 a few days ago. I also now see this as an option in the settings. In addition, a symbol is displayed in the status bar at the top which, as far as I can see, represents the activated function.
