Google Nexus 6

  • Hello, will the new Google Nexus 6 be available from Swisscom?

    • Hello everyone

To date we have no official information about a Nexus 6, but we will refrain from adding the device to our range.

The decision as to whether we include a mobile phone in our range is determined by various influencing factors such as purchase price, technical features, availability, range design, etc. and is continually checked by us.

I wouldn’t expect it - Swisscom has never had a nexus - as before, Swisscom and co only have boring mainstream…

Unfortunately I can’t answer that for you.

However, I know that you could order the Nexus 4 or 5 directly from the Swisscom Shop!

Maybe you can find out more via the hotline or in the Swisscom shop.

    Ok I understand.

Yes, the official announcement from Google is imminent. (like every year at this time)

Since there is no provider in Switzerland that offers the Nexus smartphones, I would highly recommend Swisscom to start with them as there is definitely interest and therefore there is a gap in the market.

Especially since the new Nexus beats all Android phones that Swisscom currently offers. (see link)

Of course, this is just speculation at the moment, but it will definitely be a high-end smartphone from the Android creators themselves. And as a loyal Swisscom customer and Android fan, I would be very pleased to purchase the latest and greatest Android smartphone.

    Thanks

Swisscom wants to sell mobile phones where the manufacturer makes it possible to install pre-installed apps and branding (boot logo, wallpaper, etc.) so that the Swisscom brand is visible.

    Everything else is marketing nonsense.

Technically the Nexus 6 is on top. Swisscom would be well served not to rely on the boring “mainstream” and take a risk. Otherwise, whatever happens… contract extensions etc. with other internal dealers.

    Hello manu77

We have taken note of the introduction of the Nexus 6.

However, we will not include the Nexus 6 in our range.

Thank you very much for your understanding.

    Ok… That’s very unfortunate… but I acknowledge it.

Inquiries pointing out the gap in the market and Swisscom’s rejection have now been sent to Mobilezone Brack and Digitec.

Swisscom’s trend is: just boring mainstream…

    Understandable from a business perspective…

The freaks should know how to help themselves with alternative sources of supply

Yes, thanks Digitec. Apparently there are no discounts for new subscriptions with Swisscom Abo - or hardly any. Does the same apply to contract extensions?

Nexus 6 64gb New Price: 699chf. With Infinity M over 24 months, for example 609chf.

For comparison: iPhone 6 16gb new price: 729chf. With Infinity M over 24 months 199chf.

Every device is subsidized by Swisscom, but this doesn’t seem to be the case with the Nexus 6. Does Swisscom really want to prevent the Nexus success? If I’m not mistaken, it was like this with all previous Nexus models. For what reason it remains a mystery to me.

The prices without a subscription are actually set by Digitec (they are very low), but the prices with a subscription depend, in my opinion, directly on the network provider subsidies when the contract is concluded. Actually logical, right?

Yes, but since Swisscom doesn’t even offer the cell phone, I have to rely on digitec.
I was even told by customer service over the phone…

    Show original language (German)

Yes, that’s true. But Digitec also makes a profit. Contract extensions via Digitec were always much more expensive. I would ask Mobilezone. They also give more discounts when extending contracts.

Cruncher: that’s not true. Contract extensions at Digitec are otherwise extremely competitive or even unbeatable.

I have now received feedback on the prices with a 24-month extension for Infinity M. So also 609 CHF. I am very disappointed. At this point I demand an official statement from Swisscom as to why the Nexus is the only device that is not subsidized. I find this incomprehensible and regrettable. If this situation does not change quickly, my Swisscom subscription will also have to be canceled next month.

This is not false information, but rather our own experiences… Devices that are not in Swisscom’s range cost an extremely high price with VVL at Digitec! It’s just like that…!!!
