Absolutely… I’m just waiting in the queue for the second time to cancel my Swisscom subscription… I hope at least they can sort that out…

I agree with my colleagues before me:

I would like an opinion INCL. a reason why Swisscom is boycotting the Nexus 6!

Since my subscription expires in a week, I actually wanted to extend it and get the Nexus 6!

Given that I still pay over 600 CHF, I will probably have to re-register my subscription including Swisscom TV, vivo casa, etc.

There will be no boycott. According to earlier information that I remember, the Nexus devices had a pure Android operating system installed, which Swisscom is not allowed to adapt and therefore no Swisscom services can be pre-installed for users. Swisscom would like to make everything as easy as possible for its customers.

I myself am absolutely not a fan of branded devices and prefer to pay more for the device. Just because of the availability of updates. As already mentioned several times, I would order the device elsewhere. The Swisscom Abo can also be extended at other shops.

Do you think this will move Swisscom?

Nice dreams…

What’s with the sense of entitlement?

Do you think Swisscom owes you an account of why it includes which devices in its range?

Nobody will stop it, for example. B. Mobilezone etc. to extend your contract.

Many thanks for your response!

But I think it’s tantamount to a boycott if Swisscom keeps the cell phone from me because they can’t install their own apps. Of course you can gloss it over with optimization for customers, but ultimately it’s also about advertising and data control (which you probably have through the apps you have installed; I can’t delete or adjust them). I would consider customer-friendly a service that offers me the cell phone at similar conditions to comparable products, even without Swisscom apps installed (which would at best make my life easier).

After all, it’s my own fault if the cell phone isn’t that user-friendly. Like you, I also prefer cell phones without pre-installations from the provider, but I would still like an almost similar offer or at least information about why exactly my preferred device is not offered.

From a business perspective, Swisscom has to commit to a certain range of devices - which can also make a lot of money, and that is of course: mainstream, mainstream and more mainstream….

Each additional device entails considerable additional administration effort and if certain sales volumes are not expected, then one or the other device will simply fall flat….

And the Nexus devices are definitely not mainstream, but devices for connoisseurs and freaks - but that is too small a part of the 95% Swisscom 0815 customer base to generate enough sales volume….

….keep on rockin' 🤘🏼🤘🏼🤘🏼

I can still remember when I had a problem with the WiFi router on my Nexus 4 and called the hotline. (I think Kit Kat was just out there)
The technician said I should install the latest Android version Jelly Bean…
Well… it’s a shame Swisscom… it’s a real shame…
